While I didn't use the paper piecing it went really fast. Made all the triangle and four patch squares in like 5 hours. Squared each block and love it. I did mine in navy blue multiple fabric blocks and cream background. Thank you for giving such doable directions. Wanted red but am in Spain and quilt shops are almost non existent.

I like the block alot. Don't like white so much. Do you have an idea of what you could use in the place of white with the red? Thank you for answering and giving us so many great patterns, tutorials and tips for quilting Kimberly. Hope you all have a great week.
@FatQuarterShopTX3 жыл бұрын
Hello Jewel! You can use any color you like in place of the white, whatever appeals to you! Try a pink for a tonal color block, aqua for a modern bright look, navy for high contrast (see the Ladies Aid quilt for an example of this), light green for a holiday look, even yellow could look very sweet. Place something red against colors you love to see what clicks for you.

Is it necessary to use the triangle paper squares? If not, are measurements given to make half square triangles?
@FatQuarterShopTX3 жыл бұрын
Hello Marilyn! If not using triangle paper, you would cut 4 - 3 7/8" squares for each First and Second Unit, from the print and background fabrics, to make 8 half square triangle units.

What's the point of the clapper? I realize it absorbes the heat, but, why is that important?
@maryannecarter26323 жыл бұрын
It helps to flatten the seems without scorching the fabric.
@FatQuarterShopTX3 жыл бұрын
Hello Susann! Kimberly likes the clapper to get incredibly flat seams. While fabric is still hot and steaming, it can still change shape and distort. The clapper on top to continues to press flat while absorbing the steam and heat, so when it's removed the fabrics are cool and will not change shape anymore.
