Almost equal credit goes to the crowd
@RustBunny4 жыл бұрын
@@hussainaltajli222 I see it (get it?) as proof that kayfabe is far from dead. Sure, you may not be able to get away with something like this in WWE, AEW, ROH or Impact, but the indies are a lot more tolerant and accepting of things that get Jim Cornette's blood boiling, intentionally comedic or not. If the crowd can get behind and help sell a match between two invisible wrestlers (and huge props to the ref for his role) or sell Orange Cassidy's otherwise unsalable offense in the beginning of his matches, you must be doing something right. Call it what you will and pull out the "it's still real to me" card if you must, but kayfabe isn't truly dead as long as we don't let it die.

The “match” works only because wrestling fans love wrestling so much we can recognise all the tropes used. Things like the duelling forearms, the quick pin reversals, the “busted wide open” shot leading to the medical gloves. We’ve seen it done so many times we can see it even though no one’s actually there. This really demonstrates how important fans are to wrestling shows.

@@MouseTheGayBandit Can't believe Vacant is in his 100s and still doing matches like he's in his 20s, what a legend. Vacant really should be in the WWE Hall of Fame, TNA's variation of that, etc. The fact he didn't get a Slammy when those were things really show just how much company runners don't understand the legacy of Vacant.
