If you have a drawing worksheet for this pattern, you can actually practice on paper and move to FMQ immediately after you get used to the rhythm of the pattern. I uploaded a new video with a link to a free worksheet.

I actually make a quilting plan while doodling so it would be easier to quilt. I’m using here a sample quilt just for this tutorial, about the same size as a throw quilt. 😍

Is that a darning foot or is it a quilting foot and if so what is the difference

I'm using a darning foot which came with my sewing machine. It's also called quilting foot or embroidery foot, depending on the machine's brand.

I still cannot believe that all of your stitches are about even....It's so hard to get that even consistency. Seems like at least some of mine are a bit longer than the others....Isn't there a tool to keep the stitches the same length?

Hi Lynette! Thank you for your comment. My stitch length looks uniform because my speed is almost uniform also, and I think I achieved this after doing FMQ for long hours. If you have a Bernina machine, you could purchase a stitch regulator, but for other brands like mine which is Juki, everything depends on the speed of moving the quilt under the foot. Anyway you'll improve it if you quilt more. Good luck. 😇
