Hmm sounds impressive. But can you do all what you did on the keys also on the MPC live? Like complicated chords while play two pads at once? And what about the scale? Can you put these chords in different scales too?
@MusicianParadise3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can do that on the MPC live in pad perform mode playing two pads at once. Of course you are limited to the 16 pads layout, so I found Ripchord plugin more flexible in this regard - accessing to all the 88 keys at once. As you already pointed out, the chords in those complex progressions is not derived from the same scale - each chord have its own scale or mode. But of course, you can transpose the whole thing up and down chromatically to start the progression from anywhere you like. Hope this helps!

I’m a new beginner using the new MPC One Plus & I wanted to know if your sound comes in Standalone? Because I also have a brand new 1994 Roland JV-1080 midi sound module with 4 expansion boards because I would like to create my own Neo Soul beats
@MusicianParadise Жыл бұрын
These files will work on any modern standalone MPCs, as well as in MPC software and the free VST Ripchord (there’s specific .rpc files for the ripchord VST). To use them with your JV-1080, you can send the MIDI out of your MPC One Plus from the track in pad perform mode to the MIDI In of your JV-1080 using a standard 5-pin MIDI cable. Alternatively, you can use Ripchord in the DAW of your choice (note that it will not work with the MPC Software, so there is no support for VST3 format) and send the MIDI to the JV-1080 using any MIDI interface.

This is great! However, I'm finding several areas where there isn't a chord but just two notes or nothing is triggered.
@MusicianParadise2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! Can you specify what are you using - MPC Pad Preform or the Ripchord VST? It will help me to understand whats going on. Two notes is intentional - it is complimentary notes, the "double stops" to embellish some chords assigned to the neighbour keys (usually lower keys), so it works the best with the sustained chord beneath. You can see in my video demo how I using this technique. If nothing is triggered it might be my mistake, or just the end of the chord progression, or some polyphony restrictions on the instrument you are using. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

I'm trying to collect the references for deep house and EDM chord packs. The problem with deep house, trance and derivatives is this - frequently the perceived harmony is a result of a few melodic lines playing together - when condensed into chord progression is just a single minor 9nth chord which does not sound very exiting by itself without rhythmic/melodic texture and the bassline.If you really want deep house chord pack to become a reality, please give me list of the reference tracks, it will help me to gather enough material for such a pack. BTW in my free Ripchord Chord Pack megapack kzbin.info/www/bejne/o17Hq3Vvmatmq5Y there's a lot of chord progressions taken from House and EDM, but probably you didn't recognised those as such, because of the reasons mentioned above!
