I'm really glad to see BFD has abandoned the "blueprint" style interface introduced in BFD3. BFD Player has a realistic looking interface that actually looks like the drum kit you are playing, and it's very intuitive to use.
BFD Player comes with a 5GB Core drum library, and you can purchase other kits to expand your sounds.
You'll also get 340 professionally played drum grooves, but of course you can always play in your MIDI with a MIDI Keyboard, pad, or e-drum kit - or simply program the MIDI with the Pencil tool in your DAW of choice.
There's also a full mixer with output routing, so you are free to mix and route things as you please.

BFD4 is in development and going to happen. Probably not until early 2025. I still love BFD3. Nothing else comes close for the realism, quality and variety.

I can't find any info on compatibility with BFD3 libraries. Are they compatable with BFD Player? I'm assuming they aren't otherwise it would be stated on their site, right, or did I miss something?

Not yet, but it is on their roadmap to make BFD3 expansions compatible with BFD Player. They are pretty slow and small, so I wouldn't expect that until well into next year.

hey man ... i saw you have some grooves in BFD player ... Groove Monkey updated packs to include BFD player, but I can't see how to import ..little help? thanks!

My guess would be you have to place them in the Grooves folder. You choose the path for the content when you install. So go there, find the Grooves folder and try dropping in one of the bfd3.grv files
