Thabiso Shabangu wish I knew what was going on. I have no idea other than make sure it’s not bypassed or something. Also make sure the fx are turned on for the master with the yellow icon at the bottom of the track.

putting it on specific mixer order makes a difference too, you gotta switch positions on how they placed and test one more time

Honestly sounds like you might be confused about something. Please feel free to detail more about what you are referring to. This example is meant to only show the difference between the fruityt soft clipper and t-racks clipper. There is no "switching positions" that should effect this test because we are simply soloing the plugins and not feeding them into each other. Again, feel free to explain what you mean exactly and I might be able to clear some things up for you.

YESSS!!! I have entire Total Studio Max and I have no idea how to use like 80% of all plugins 🤣 By the way the harder slope give you more punchyness on your bass drum wich sounds good on fast music so you are kinda misleading people telling them, they want that towards bigger slope. It all depends on the music. If you take fast techno music or DNB you would want that hard slope.

Jack Fisher haha hopefully you’ll get around to learning the other plugins. I don’t recall telling anyone they want the “bigger” slope. I literally said/showed in the video, the range I typically use goes from anywhere between soft and hard clipping equally. Not just hard or soft clipping. Always use your ears, which is how you decide where you end up.

So would you say if you have a good mix already, this classic clipper would be the only plugin you need for mastering? No compression or limiters? And I'm assuming if you added some eq and saturation it would be before the clipper? Thanks

For making beats, yes to all of that. You'll notice on the mix bus, I actually have additional plugins there. It's indeed eq, saturation and compression. I always do all of that before clipping. I often add an additional limiter at the end after clipping if I'm doing something for maximum loudness, i.e. finished EDM tracks. But literally just adding the clipper alone is enough to finish a beat to post on beatstars or whatever.

I prefer compression, because it have attack and release speed, whereas clippers have instant attack/release. For me "ballistics" of compressor sound more musical, if it set-up properly. Also compressors may have different settings for rms/peak detection, auto-release, look-ahead and stuff.

T-Racks clipper is great! but why would you use soft clipper on the master when you can use maximus for clipping? In maximus you have you an input gain (either pre or post can boost gain into the clipping) and you also have more control over the knee. Part of the reason soft clipper sounds duller is the knee might not be as hard as in the t racks

jon0830 I say all of this in my Maximus vs soft clipper video...link in description. I also said in this video that the threshold isn’t creating hard clipping. Yes, it’s because it’s not a knee control which I showed in T-racks clipper. All of that said, I use Maximus and t-racks in tandem sometimes. Sometimes I don’t use Maximus at all. Depends on the mix/my mood. They both sound great! More than one way to go about this.

Hi there:) Finally a video I that I was looking for regarding this soft clipper. Thanks so much for this information. Wanted to ask if I am sending stems to a mixing engineer, do I have the soft clipping enabled on the stems? In Ableton you just say you want the master effects enabled on each stem? Do i just keep the soft clipper enabled when sending stems off to a mixing engineer? It sounds great with it on, but you never know if the engineer also uses a clipper or not. So sorry if it's a stupid question :P

yeepeeetixsT use what works for you bro. I have no clue what you’re doing that is causing that with one plugin and not the other. Otherwise I’d say it’s your mix. The only advice I have I literally everything I said in this video for t racks clipper. I don’t have any secret info or anything like that beyond what I covered for ya. Good luck man...I’d stick with what works for your projects.

Actually it might be your buffer rate. try increasing that in the audio settings. I know ozone specifically it takes up way more cpu than stock plugins.
