About 40+ years ago, my family used a similar solar cooker. The main body was made of cement and the mirrors were inlaid with found broken glass, and when broken glass was not available, tinfoil from cigarettes was used. Honestly, it didn't work very well, but it saved money over using coal to boil water. Interesting memories.

Wouldn't they be considered "solar stoves " not "solar ovens" . An oven is an enclosed cooking devise and a stove is a bottom heating cooking devise. The concentrated sun rays is used the same as natural gas or propane to heat the bottom of a cooking pot or pan. Now I have to build one for my trimaran that I chose to live on.
