Excellent! This will speed up my assembly of balsa model airplanes.

Sweet tip! Will have to try that for my 3d prints. maybe i'll try that trick with my filament as it should stretch the same.

I'm glad it will help. Sure does make application the of the glue much more precise. Thanks for taking the time to provide the feedback.

Great tips! I have been using a large eye sewing needle, cut the tip off so it resembles a fork. I sand the tips of the fork slightly to a point, insert the pointy end of the needle into a handled pin vise, and have a reusable applicator. When it clogs up, just burn it off with a lighter, dip in water to cool and wipe the tip, ready to go again! The discoloration from burning doesn't transfer to the glue. It has been very useful building my 1/200 scale aircraft carrier, butt load of PE! But the sprue idea I may use at times as well. Thanks!

Another great tip, thank you. I will certainly have to try that one as well. May provide for a little more precise application. Without the tip, how does it do for thin CA's?
@ladyknieval4 жыл бұрын
@@FlyingSModels I actually use medium CA, 90% of the time, thick CA occasionally. I find medium works better on ship PE. Never tried thin with that applicator.
@JeiBeeBee4 жыл бұрын
I do the same. Best tool and way of applying thin super glue. For applying medium glue U use the business end of the same needle, with the sharp tip cut off.

@@FlyingSModels works great with thin CA as well.....capillary action is magic..

Very creative advice. I will be trying this out. Dont laugh, but Ive been using make-up applicators (they have a little tiny brush tip), They work, but only once and have to be thrown away.
@FlyingSModels2 жыл бұрын
Whatever works, I say. The good thing about these, other than the fact that they are included for "free" in every kit, is that as the tip builds up with super glue, you can just cut it off and have a slightly shorter applicator.

You can do the same heat stretching with the feeding tube from a windex bottle, if you should need a slim "wet feed" for larger seams, place on the spout of the glue bottle.. 😉
@FlyingSModels4 жыл бұрын
Great tip, thank you! I use this technique for accelerator application all the time, rather than spray a big pattern out of the bottle.

How can I store super glue, that it don't dry out in the bottles ect 🤔
@FlyingSModels3 жыл бұрын
I make sure to keep the tip of the bottle cleaned off so that the cap seals well. If I notice that the cap is not sealing due to dried glue on the tip, I replace the tip (the are much cheaper than a new bottle).

@@FlyingSModels hello again ☺️ Where can I get the left over plastic pieces to make the aplicators, I don't make plastic models but, I would like to use this kind of aplicator, or would a cheap roll of any fishing line work too, or other cheap stuff 🤔 Regards
@FlyingSModels3 жыл бұрын
@@WaschyNumber1 You definitely could use fishing line or any other thin material like that. The only issue would be you wouldn't have the handy "handle" that you get when stretching a larger piece of plastic rod. I'm sure there are tons of modelers out there that have leftover sprues that they would send you. I have a ton myself. Or you could purchase Evergreen rod (1/8" or so) and then make your own. Here's a link if you want to check that out: amzn.to/3l2R1Nz
