In order to lower a Tahoe, Suburban, Denali, Yukon or Escalade you first need to address the rear bump stop. The bump stop removal or free travel mod removes the rear foam bump stop and the metal above it. I think this is require if you are lowering a tahoe, suburban, denali, Yukon or escalade more than 3 inches in the rear. I wanted to make an in depth how to on free travel mod for gm suvs. This free travel how to applies to 2007-2013 GM SUVs. It is also very similar on 2014-2020. In the video after this I will show you what bump stop I will be using.

I’m curious if anyone knows if this would help add suspension travel on a truck without a drop, I spend a lot of time off-road (mostly beaches and dunes at speed) so the added travel would potentially make things a bit smoother I think, especially over the whoops a ruts and such…

Hello i finally did the free travel on my suburban and the relocation. But i did a 5" drop. But my question is i bought beltech street performance lowering shocks and the tech guy said i dont need to use the shock extenders so i didnt. Rear doesnt sit as low as i thought with the 5" drop springs. Thinking of putting air bags to sit it as low as i can at the car shows. Your thiughts please

I use what I know works. I get this all the time. Why do I need relocation brackets, I got drop shocks. It is about the angles/geometry, not just drop.

What size grinding disc do you use? What I mean is how thick are the grinding wheels? I have a dewalt cordless grinder and it holds up to a 4 1/2 inch disc but I do know some metal grinding wheels are thinner than others.

It's to weaken the frame that piece is put there to reinforce the frame at the bend for towing I've had lowered vehicle's since the 70s and any time you cut something off you need to reinforce plate the area

I got the bell tech drop kit for my YukonXl just wish the springs were powder coated. I'm using the Belltech 753sp 3-4 drop kit with street performance shocks and Belltech lowering springs. I also have helper bags for when I pull a trailer. It does bottom out if I don't have air in the bags which is 90% of the time. Can I used shorter bump stops to allow more travel?
