Thank you for this. It sounds great (I set it to sound natural) and I'm impressed. Was looking for something to supplement Melodyne and RePitch and have been testing all the automatic tuners out there. This does not change the sound (tone) in a negative way - I would say it's the best free tuner and compares well to the other paid tuners. Great job!

Dude, this is spot on! It sounds really good. I had kept mautopitch installed, but was never quite satisfied with the sound of it when using it as an fx. Your version sounds so smooth and good man. You should totally do a pro version of this. edit I've never used autotune, because for general pitch correction I have a basic melodyne license, but I still always wanted to have that infamous autotune effect as an option. Buying the real deal for just that was never an option though so thank you very much for providing this one for free! I do think it sounds very nice :) Good luck on your thesis!

Great plugin! I just select all of the notes, no need to set a scale. On my vocals, it really doesn't do anything much at all, but I tried it on harmonica tracks and it cleaned them up nicely. Too nicely, I had to pull it back a bit. 20 to 30% seems to be a good speed, and on vocals, 100% on the amount seemed fine, but then as I said, it wasn't really doing anything much, I wasn't out of tune, but on harmonica, 50% was ample. I did try it on some deliberately pitchy background vocals, and it certainly can be transparent at around 30% speed. I never thought I'd be using auto tune, but it's so transparent that I might as well use it, it does clean the vocal up, but it can seem to make it a bit thinner in spots, so it might be best to dial the amount down a bit. Great plugin, I won't be looking for a replacement, this works well.

Great plugin! I tested it against a bunch of others I have FL Pitcher, Antares Autotune 11, Waves Real Time Tune, Nectar 4 Pitch Correction, MAutopitch, Metatune, and bx_crispytuner. Specifcally I tested at max speed/correction on all of them and yours was clearly the best free option (vs MAutopitch and Pitcher since its stock), and It was comfortably above my two least favorite paid options that being nectar 4 and bx_crispytuner, depending on the source it was typically 3. Metatune 2. SpotOn/Waves Real time tied, and 1. Antares Autotune. The results could vary at slower settings though but I did test at max settings on two different vocal ranges. It would be nice if you could add a key picker in the future but if not I understand the minimalism angle you have.

Testing criteria was for pitch artifacts (that weird jumpy sound you get on severely out of tune notes) and audible formant weirdness/phaseyness (most evident in MAutopitch)

I just tried this on a dance cover of the 80s classic Every Breath You Take. I use an AI female voice Synthesizer V. Then I use Spoton with both knobs on max. Sounds awesome after correcting the notes for scale. I have two suggestions. 1. Have an option to show the key letters. 2. Don't waste too much times on theming. The important thing is the function and that it looks good. I will probably support you by buying some other plugin at some point. You do great things and I hope you get paid for your work. 🎉

Does it also do a bit of formant correction under the hood? Just interested because i found out that the width/chorus sounding signature antares autotune effect can be achieved by using 1-10 percent of formant correction. And im pretty sure that Antares uses a bit of formant correction even if its turned completely off in the plugin. Tried it with bx tuner. Great plugin btw :)

"Spot On" are distinct words so that will be my preferred way of saying it. It's the Englishman in me. 😁 I'm personally not a fan of pitch correction because it actually defeats the "a little imperfection is perfection" philosophy. If a person isn't able to sing close to the correct pitch within say 5% then they really ought not to be singing at all. In England we have an old saying which sums this up rather well: "You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear." Imagine this - a group of 20 people all singing a song at the exact same pitch - it would sound dreadful and bland. The slight variations in their pitches make a far more pleasing net result. Wider pitch variations give us, of course, the magic that is harmony. Now imagine 200 people singing a song at the exact same pitch. ARRRGGGHHHH! 🤣

@croay7 ай бұрын
Is there a way to make it process stereo?
@sixthsample6 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, no (without making your own routings with things like the FL Studio Patcher or Ableton Racks). The plugin makes the incoming audio mono to avoid correction differences between multiple channels which can result in chorusing/phase cancellation. Some plugins get around this by letting the user choose which channel the plugin should listen to when detecting the pitch, but as most unprocessed vocals are mono to begin with, I decided to keep things simple.
@JipJonker7 ай бұрын
Great! For some fast and simple auto tuning. And free! Thanks man. I suppose when we have a vocal that hits a note above what was meant to be sung we could use a second instance of the plugin on that note to correct it to a specific note? And automate the plugins on / oof? Or would that not work very well? Also: Can we automate the selected keys in case we do need to go outside the key for a bit?
@sixthsample7 ай бұрын
It's my pleasure! Yes, the selected keys can be automated, so what you can do is disable some of them to force snapping to a note further away. Of course, if this is something you have to do a lot with the vocals you are working on, a graphical tuning plugin might be a better solution.
@leo.nordmann7 ай бұрын
Easiest way would be melodyne into spoton. Use melodyne for the broad strokes and spoton as the character fx.
