Hey man I just wanted to say thank you for your videos. These videos you make mean a lot to me and learning free cad helps with my depression on my spare time. Itd be cool to see a series of design prints using free cad.

Awesome video, nice to see some 3D printing too! 😀👍

Nice tutorial. I've been playing with Freecad for just a few days. I've done lots of cnc machining but will be getting my first printer in a couple weeks. My kids are all in their 20's, but I bet I could at least slow them down with this project. ;)

Hi , Joseph . Glad to see you're doing a freecad video again . I miss th'em , hope you've got more on the queue ? Now realistically speaking if your darling daughter is anything like papa , how long do you think that will stop her ?? LOL have a great day my friend . Terry

If you want to take the mesh down further you can export into blender as an stl and in edit mode by pressing X do a limited dissolve.

Hey , Joseph. I has wondering how you been . Haven't seen any freecad videos from you in a while . I hope you and your family are doing great. Looking forward to some more when you get time . Kindest Regards Terry Lembke

If you hover over the constraint in the tool bar it should give you the hot key, eg shift v has now just become v
@zoltaniii95342 жыл бұрын
I've noticed the same with the latest .20 Hi Joko. Not sure why the change was necessary but these commonly used hotkeys are now.. Vertical constraint: I Horizontal: L Distance constraint: K followed by D Angle constraint: K followed by A Constraint point onto object: O Sorry if I've added some you already know.

Thanks, I'm truly going to miss using my left hand for hotkeys while my right hand runs the mouse

Hi Joko, thank you for al your many instructive and insightful videos into FreeCad, please keep them coming. I felt the same when I realised I’ll need to first come over from the right to hit the hotkey K before I can use hotkey D. Leaves me to wonder how this was decided and regarded to be a necessary change.

I think it was possible to print this design with no support (with maybe a few tweaks). I always strive to achieve that with FDM printing as it leads to a nicer aspect but it is sometimes difficult and requires more refection and thus much more time. Anyway, thanks for sharing your insight, always very interesting.

Hey, really like your videos, big fan. The hot keys have changed, which you can see in the tool tips for each. The geometry keystrokes all start with G, eg GL = Line. The Constraint keys are either single eg V = Vertical, E = = or start with K eg KA = Angle or they never got one. Like Radius. Sad Face. My guess is that you move so fast you never see the tooltips. Feature Request: Elmer FEM is partially integrated into FC, a huge step forward IMHO. It's also greatly under appreciated for it's natural ability re multiphysics problems. The elmerfem youtube page has some great examples, eg a vibrating tuning fork generating sound waves, simulating motion & fields in an electric motor, etc. Not to mention some really arcane applications. Maybe that's due to the lack of supercomputers lying around. But still. Worth a look? Maybe airflow in a turbocharger is your kind of thing?

isn't the constraint for radius K,R ? I was upset I couldn't get Diameter going though.

Why did you created mesh before exporting? It is possible to just export a body to STL. Is there any difference?
@JokoEngineeringhelp Жыл бұрын
You can highlight the body and file>Export>save as STL. I like to create a mesh and then export the mesh because it gives more options.

Hi. My comments disappear after initially being accepted and displayed. I am trying to share a Sketcher shortcut cheat sheet that I found on reddit, but am unable. If you see this comment and know how to resolve this issue, please let me know. Thanks.

This one showed up, but I'm not sure how to resolve a visibility issue, I think KZbin is incorrectly filtering it

The hotkeys are just different now (radius is simply 'r')...

Man! You clearly don’t live in an apartment. I do, so I watch my videos using headphones (not to disturb the neighbors). And when you switched from talking to the very loud music WITH NO WARNING, I almost fell off my chair. I had to lower the volume considerably. Then you switched back to talking and I could barely hear you, so I had to up the volume, but then you switched back to loud music. 😞 Come on!
