Thank you very much. I just got a 3D printer and I'm trying to basically make this same shape to fix a push button on a dump truck door handle.

As a practical lesson, suppose you have an antique auto or caravan with a missing or broken tail lens or emblem. With pictures from the car show, we wish to 3D print a pattern to cast. This seemed to be an easy task to say out loud but has proven to be a practice in error generation. This lesson is very close to what we seek to accomplish. Thanks for your guidance. -EZ

What version of FreeCad is this?Very nice and so silky smooth, I can use this on my replication for my automotive body parts! Another tool in FreeCAD that you have brought to my attention and more importantly demonstrated how to use and refine for a very professional result! THANKS

By the Sketcher's toolbars looks like Version 0.21.2 (Stable edition). The nice and silky smooth appearance is achieved in Edit menu-Preferences-Display and reducing the Resolution to 0.001 (the lowest the number the higher resolution you get but more CPU effort is required, depends if your machine is able to deal with). The author preferred to change the resolution in the View tab (below the Combo window) as shawned in this video. Edited: Typo

Try Ondsel, based on FreeCAD. I used to download the FreeCAD weekly build but got bitten by a nasty bug. At least Ondsel has some gatekeeping before merging and releasing features.

Related to Curves WB. I want to create an arbitrary cam path on a drum surface. Is this the most efficient way? It just feels clunky and there's a lot of clutter produced in the process. 1. Create Sketch on Surface in Curves WB. Draw the desired path. 2. In PartDesign WB create a square sketch then a solid body using additive pipe using the path in #1. 3. XOR the body from #2 to the target drum or cylinder using Parts WB.
