Hello FD! I am a fan of ypur documentary but this is only in Nepal. I wish all the countries you featured get a help as well especially Nicaragua. Nicaragua needs the most help because they have the tightest budget when it comes to education, so much so that when you see the school where Ms.Miller taught there is only one classroom for ALL GRADE LEVELS, dilapitated classroom, no papers and pen, etc. While I live in the Philippines, and there is a documentary as well, we have a luck in government because the budget always prioritze education and the girl with her schoolmates who also goes with her on the pangpang in the documentary only needs a bicycle so that she can go to the school without going to the pangpang (cliff).

There are no big changes in the school. Our bus is old and needs new. We study together with Alyosha. In high school, we still study even at -54-60 ° C. If you are interested, the bus driver Grigory is retired. I have read almost all of your comments. I grew up in Yakutia and now I live in China. I miss my hometown so much. It definitely makes me stronger. I like to return to my hometown during the wintertime, It’s frighteningly cold in Yakutia when winter temperatures plummet to -50°C, but I’m just grateful that I grew up in this unique place with an amazing nature that’s all around us. I love winter and I always missing breathing cold and fresh air. After all, something about winter just sends off that vibe, the vibe of closeness, love and true meaning of life.

Okay, I live here, in Yakutia. It was absolutely normal to go to school when it was -50 degrees. In my village I had to walk to school for half an hour. But road was fun cuz I gathered all my friends and we went to school together. And about buying new school bus - you all are very generous, buy not every vehicle can survive in our temperature. Bus in the video is made in russian car factory so it is suitable for our Republic. Most of foreign cars (from Japan, Europe and etc) doesn't survive in our cold weather without proper modding. P.S. Drinking water made of ice cube from local lake is the best water I've ever tasted. I was blessed to drink it while I was a kid and lived in a village :)

When I was in the Army part of our training was Winter survival in Norway and we thought that was tough. These people are at another level, I take my hat off to them. The squeaking noise of the snow when he was walking brought it all back to me. Strange how things you had forgotten about can suddenly come rushing back by the most innocuous of things.

@@rommelcurato1927 . As someone like yourself who lives in a tropical climate, I can well understand your interest in such cold places and how people overcome the hardships of just living day to day. I know of people from my country being sent on jungle survival courses and coming back saying, it was the hardest thing they have ever gone through. They mentioned things like being eaten alive by bugs, most of the snakes being venomous and the constant humidity and all that that entails. So in a way your survival in those conditions is as hard as the people in the documentary, we humans can survive anywhere on the planet if we have to.

In my opinion, it is especially important to cover such videos in the school program in order to broaden the horizons of students and highlight those problems that are really urgent. Before I watched this video I didn’t really think about the problem of education but after, I am looking out for this! Also, after I checked a lot of comments I am glad to see the main character of this video here after 10 years and this is very important, because from the Sayana’s comments we can see how situation in her region is changing. I am glad that I got acquainted with this video clip, it really makes us think about how important it is to understand the need for equality of educational opportunities for all people around you and how to contribute to this!

Then I sent them on an expedition with a map for three days in Upstate NY and let them have it (we was actually following them but we were not helping them if they went the wrong way and with pitching tents etc, they also wore trackers) and then brought them along to a trip in Iraq. Trust me, those children never complained about walking to school, not having the latest phone, not getting lots spent on them at Christmas etc... Call it old fashioned but as someone who was coddled in a boarding school for sixteen years and learnt the hard way with six older brother's, I took the total opposite approach with my own kids. Love how the dog went along running by the bus. He needs to just make him a seat on the bus. Be the friendly dog on the bus that greets all the students for school & drop offs ☺️ that will def keep a smile on the kids faces

Maybe the dog needs exercise. Plus it might be too hot inside for him. This breed is comfortable in subfreezing temperatures only.
