@theothistledon69355 жыл бұрын
@@iawarenow658 The reason the jet stalls is the jet engines are too far forwards. Boeing put the jet engines forward because they would not fit under the wing. To try to counteract the tendency to pitch up they devised a software solution that didnt work effectively. The jets erroneously pitched upwards which caused them to stall. The result was pilots wrestling the controls trying to nose down. That couldn't work because software was instructed to nose up. Ultimately the software solution caused the jets to crash.

This is a B787 DreamLiner not a B737 Max
@theharper15 жыл бұрын
@Paul Litchfield not the same software or issue. The 737 Max had a tendency for the nose to lift due to the extra power and high positioning of the engines. The software attempted to restore the aircraft behaviour to be consistent with earlier versions. The 787 is a completely new aircraft (as the Max should have been) and doesn't have the same issue and therefore no MCAS.
@theharper15 жыл бұрын
@Paul Litchfield MCAS came about because Boeing wanted the type certification for the 737 Max to be the same as other 737 variants so pilots didn't have to train for a new type certification. The Max should have been a whole new aircraft instead, but that would take too long and they would lose market share to Airbus. Sadly, the MCAS design failure has had the same result. Someone allowed a flawed piece of software to be used, and it has killed people. :( There's nothing physically wrong with the Max. It could be flown perfectly well without MCAS.

Balazs Totfalusi That could be the Boeing 2707 concept which at first it was designed to have a variable sweep wing. But as problems were accumulating, they put aside at first the variable sweep wings and, as the financial support was running out, the concept itself. Boeing 2707 never saw the sky.

I often read or hear that Airbus test flights at Toulouse use the Airbus private airfield. I have often landed at Toulouse Blagnac, and never noticed, from the air, any runways other than those that are used by the scheduled flights I take. In this video we clearly see a building marked "Toulouse Blagnac". The Airbus which crashed during a test flight took off from Toulouse Blagnac and was intended to land at Toulouse Blagnac. There is an excellent video here on KZbin relating that accident. Worth watching, particularly if you believe that test pilots would never omit to respect safety considerations.) So, does anyone have any proof that Airbus has a private airfield at Toulouse?

I do hope the concept was only a pretty picture, and not a genuine proposal. The first and most obvious problem with the design is engine positioning. The intakes are in the perfect place to act as vacuum cleaners for every surface the plane moves across. They need to be mounted above or behind the wing to prevent FOD ingestion. However, the A350 is the most beautiful airliner since Concorde.
@kennethdeitz45614 жыл бұрын
I strongly dispute the "Most Modern Airliner" comment for the A350. I have flown in an A350 several times on long haul flights from Helsinki. (I really love the A350...) The 787 goes one better. The A350 is mostly "advanced" by the use of carbon fibre. But the 787 is all that and a much lighter electrical controlled, control surfaces, not just conventional hydraulic systems. As for avionics, different manufacturers, different concepts. But after the Air France A330 was mismanaged into the ocean while in flight from Brasil, Airbus did NOT skimp on the nose sensory redundancy. One AOA sensor on the MAX... (There is an old Italian word for that...)
