@@troyottosen8722 my point is that it’s not for everyone and I wouldn’t encourage everybody to just pack their bags and move up there expecting it to be Shanghai-La. it’s like these Californians moving to places like Colorado and Idaho and bringing all their “California values” right along with them. You Alaskans (I assume you’re from there) have adjusted to the challenges of living there through years of patience and hard work.

@@sean2015 I realize it’s not for everyone, thats why we only have approx 770 thousand residents, yet us longtime Alaskan’s realize no place compares. Take a poll of residents, ask where they were born, almost all living here in Alaska were not born here, only ones who hate it are big citytard transplants who expect it to be like where they came from! Those of us who love it have taken to it because it is unlike any place on earth. Simple!

Lived up there for 40 years! Most of the newcomers never make it and end up on the street or return home broke! If you decide to go there, try to line up a job BEFORE you get there or have enough money to last you at least six months. That is still not a guarantee that you'll make it! And yes, I've done some gold mining myself too!

Second that! I work at the University and have seen the dreamers come up and get smashed many times. If you don't have family or a friend group, the people suck and there are 101 scammers ready to screw over the dreams of people moving up here without a serious plan. I grew up in Alaska and did grad school up here before getting a staff job. Also if you want to mine - its a hobby not a career. The guy in the video talking about getting his beer money is right.

I live here in Southeast Ak inside passage. The footage is great but the British narrative and who ever did the research and so called facts is clueless! First off we have the largest intact temperate rainforest on earth her, second there is noi oil exploration in southeast Alaska, third, the logging industry has been practically stopped here since the early 80’s, and the Tongass is 17 million acres, and approximately 7% is logged, developed! Think about that???😳😳😳😂
