I think a low top 4x4 is a sweet spot for all the conviences with a little more off road capability than the spinters/transits. I love the Primal Outdoors chanel van. One way or the other vanlife does give that one up on having soft sides that a tent does.

So glad to see "Mom." I've never had cancer, but I have had severe asthma for almost 30 years (developed when I was 28) and am missing two lobes of my lungs (they just disintegrated!). Even when I am well I have trouble breathing; it's not fun so I can certainly sympathize. I'm glad you are feeling well!!

Wholeheartedly agree that life is a journey, not a destination as the saying goes…. We use our travel trailer as a “cottage on wheels” to travel around the country but also to visit family and friends without ever feeling like we are imposing. Plus I really like sleeping in my own bed !
