Wow, his testimony was so vague. Growing up, was he attracted to guys? was he attracted to girls? maybe both? Today as an adult, is he attracted primarily to men or women? Is he seeking a romantic relationship today? Did he have romantic relationships growing up in high school or college? If so, what were they like? How long was his relationship with this man? Was it faithful? Were they having sex? He uses the phrase "sin is sin", but doesn't tell us why his relationship was sin. He doesn't argue from scripture. He says "stopping believing the lie that's grabbing our children", but doesn't expand on which lie and why he believes it is a lie. His story about being in a relationship with a man was about his actions, not about what his attractions are. How is he working with that going forward? Does he identify as straight? gay? asexual? same sex attracted? His testimony was vibrant, but lacks substance. However, I do agree that he says very firmly that God doesn't see shades of sin--it's all the same to Him.

MichaelAtGCN , God can deliver us from any sin , if we allow. Even if we think of sin, that's sin in itself. We can't be fooled by Satan lies. If someone is attracted to the same sex, it's still a sin so that individual has to confess that sin and ask God to deliver the thought or attractions to the same sex because it's sinful. We can't sugar coat Any kind of sin. Amen

MichaelAtGCN , thank you for that comment and I made a comment to about it. I disagreed with one thing about the attraction to other men is a sin as well. That God does condemn that but if I'm wrong God will convict me. I just don't believe that God wouldn't think there is nothing wrong with feeling attractive to the same sex and only the practice is condemned. I think both will be condemned if that individual doesn't acknowledge it and get out. It just didn't sit right with me, meaning that isn't truth.

With big, big and huge respect to the Hanmaun Church and Clair Lee: Part 1 ::: I am a 52 year old @t in South Africa.Our big-line church and government has very recently also approved homosexuality/bisexuality.Please I beg you to read further.......Growing up as a Christian in a Christian family and being every Sunday in church- which condemn homosexuality/lesbianism/bisexuality those times (in which I will refer to as "gay" in further writing for the ease of it). Again : Our churches and government condemn gayness as a sin. Part ::2 Since childhood, I had a stronger desire to be with boys rather than girls. As I was growing older, the "attraction"becomes stronger and stronger. I could not understand why. Later around age 12 --- I know for sure that I was gay. Part 3 As I knew at that stage to be gay was wrong according to the Holy Word (Bible) I start fighting against it. One thing I really want you to understand, is that I have never, never, never ask or choose to be gay. In retrospect -- no one has. Who on earth would want to be gay and condemned by family,friends and society if they could have been normal?(heterosexual). I am emphasizing this fact again:No gay person choose to be gay.Please believe me on this one. So I had this continuous struggle to fight against it. And I start praying that Our Lord Jesus and the Almighty God Father and the Holy Spirit will take this struggle away. Not once. Not twice.But countless times.Crying before the Lord. Pleading with Him. Please God Jesus , take away this pain. (Only recently, after a very long intensive debate in church I realized that this was not only my prayer through the years. It was every gay`s prayer.And crying out. It is really not nice to be condemned the whole time. Part 4 More or less on age 30 (although it was a growing process for myself), I actively. deliberately, desperately accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior by getting baptized and openly declare that Jesus is my Lord and Savoir,has died on the cross for my sins and that I that my sins are forgiven.Because I was really, really tired of being rejected and condemned.I stopped dating boys and start dating girls.This went on for about 5 years. Then I realized that I am lying to myself. I am lying to the world.I am lying to the girls.And to @t this 5 years, I was terrible unhappy, depressed,crying,praying --- hear my heart. And I stopped dating girls. My desire to be with a man was still there. I went for counseling.I went for breaking of strongholds. I`ve tried everything possible.And in the process I have many conversations with God. So I ask God for an explanation or an answer. Then God answered me : When my Son was on earth, did He heal every one? Or just some? Did he heal all the leapers? Did he cast out all demons? Did the leapers ask to be leapers? Did the blind ask to be blind? The crippled ask to be crippled? Was every one healed on earth when Our Lord Jesus walked on earth? And God said: Did you ask to be gay?......... Just take up your cross and follow Me. Which I did . But still unsure.Did I hear right?Very recently, our church - -as I said the main line in South Africa realized that in the original original scriptures (where all the text referring to men sleeping with men ) was not the intention of the writer......I know you going to sit up straight now...... In those years and throughout the years in all nations and cultures up to today......there was and is and will always be be a percentage of men who want to sleep with men.That was fine with the author.What he actually had in mind was :::::::::::the raping of men:::::::::If you read the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, it is clear that at Lots house, men wanted to rape men.But that alone was not enough to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. The fact that they worshiped foreign gods, that they did not follow the commandments and laws of the time and other things was the main reason. The word "rape" or "raping men"had no term "rape" as we know it today,in those years. This is how I understand it now.....to be gay is a "sickness" like leprosy. Or cancer. or blindness.Death-mute. Is there a cure for all of these? Did any one who has it ask for it? Last part::::: Coming to the New Testament.Paul said. I wish that all off you can be single like me.Some is so by choice. Others are made like this.Others prefer to get married.Coming to the last point:::The Big Commandment:(By Jesus)Love your God firstly and wholeheartedly.Then love your nearest (others) like yourself. I am 100% sure he did not have homosexuality on mind when He said this.He had Love on His mind. The Agape (Godly Love) . And finally the conclusion: If two people love each other with an unconditional love, and they are in a relationship, without causing any hurt or pain, whether it is man and women ,men and men, women and women, blind and seeing, healthy and sick, what would Jesus say? matador jesus fan temptation isn’t the same as sin. You can’t control what the devil throws at you, but you can control which voice you listen to. Temptation is given. Testimonies like these give me hope for someone I know who is living this lifestyle right now and identifies with it. They don’t realize that God wants them free because it’ll hurt them in the long run, not to say that what they feel isn’t valid. Because it is what they feel, but their feelings are lying to them because that’s what the devil does. Confuses a God given emotion and desire and turns it into something unnatural. The feeling itself isn’t wrong. It’s fall of humanity, but the identifying is what’s wrong. So glad God delivered you.

Erin Nicole then you must not be steadfast in your faith. The change is never easy and is a daily struggle as if a slave in bondage. You have to make a mental choice and a spiritual change within you and that change (even when or after you accept Christ into your heart) is a constant relationship with Him. We are either walking with Him or without Him. And yes we bounce back and forth and the power of lust can be STRONG that's why we have to be diligent and steadfast in our love for Him, our faith in Him, and spirituality with Him. Keeping to that path is never easy for sin and lust is everywhere. And it is a sin that sticks to us worse because it is so personal. You may never truly be 'attracted' to boys but keeping your lust a at bay for those that look like you (actually a love of self a very vain sin) can happen with Him in your heart. You cannot do it alone.

Have you heard about RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT that God gives each and everyone of us as Christians? Oh I forgot. You aren't a true Christian. You follow your "heart". Well I suggest you read judging in it's proper context. Read Matthew 7:1, the context (verses 1-5) allows judging after you have first judged YOURSELF. Jesus did not make a blanket statement against judgment. He simply pointed out a RULE for judging. In fact GOD EXPECTS US TO JUDGE. If we don't judge RIGHTEOUSLY we will fall into SIN! "The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment." (Psa. 37:30) A righteous person will talk of judgment. He will not REFUSE to judge. He will TALK judgment. "Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. Hate the evil, and love the good, and ESTABLISH JUDGEMENT in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph." (Amos 5:14-15) How can you hate the evil and love the good if you refuse to judge? You can't. You are SINNING when you refuse to judge. The current generation in the world today is described in Isaiah 59:8. I suggest you read it: "The way of peace they know not; and there is NO JUDGEMENT in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace." AGAIN PEOPLE HAVE REFUSED TO JUDGE, so there is no peace. Paul said in I Corinthians 1:10 to ". . . be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the SAME JUDGEMENT." Why would Paul make such a statement if judging is wrong? May I also point out that in Corinthians 2:15 Paul says, "But HE THAT IS SPIRITUAL JUDGETH ALL THING, yet he himself is judged of no man." Judging is not a sin; JUDGING IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF BEING A SPIRITUAL PERSON! Satan has been lying to us, hoping that we will NOT judge, because he knows that the right kind of judgment PLEASES God and betters our lives as the Body of Christ. So Adam S was absolutely correct in rebuking that FALSE Anti-Christ NEW AGE thinking that you spewed. The same made up doctrine that Jesus spoke about and predicted was coming towards the end of time. Following your heart? Your heart will lead you straight to hell. Follow JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. Follow HIS word. Following your heart is also an act of self-righteousness which GOd also hates. But again, you "know" your Bible right? And last but not least. But where I am in my walk, where we all are in our walk with Jesus, is where we are. No judgment on that, cause you were here too one day. Jesus is not going to pick out a same-sex partner for anyone. Nor is he going to allow a same-sex marriage under his law. I used to be anti-gay, and then did my homework on the topic. I changed my opinion because the biblical evidence is OVERWHELMING! When studying passages in the Bible, we need to take into account the original author and audience, as well as the cultural context of the day. After all, we are separated by language, culture, and 2000+ years. Thus a deep dive into the Hebrew and Greek texts is essential. It is also important to understand history (looking at the past 3000 years), as well as psychology, politics, and science. Yes, even science! After all, it took science to teach us that the earth revolved around the sun and not the other way around - which appeared to be contradictory to Scripture, thus causing some to be imprisoned by the Church. There are some KZbin videos I would recommend. Dr. David Gushee: Ending the Teaching of Contempt against the Church’s Sexual Minorities. And Kathy Baldock: Untangling the Mess. In short, from my intense study on the subject, I am convinced that all of the same-sex passages in the Bible pertain to abusive sexual practices: gang rape, idolatry, pederasty (a type of pedophilia), etc. Please note that all of these would be equally as sinful if they were heterosexual in nature. We don’t see the “attack on gays” until the 3rd or 4th century (long after the Biblical passages were written). Thus the perspective people had about gays in the 1st century is paramount to properly understanding Romans 1, I Cor 6:9, and I Tim 1:10. From what I have studied, there was a LOT more homosexual activity going on in the first century than even today! Even then, such homosexual activity in and of itself was not considered bad by any of the biblical writers. Yet the abusive forms of such were bad - and thus Paul wrote what he wrote. I didn't just read some books to come to this conclusion, I traveled thousands of miles and researched in old archives, learned Greek and Hebrew at a master's degree level, and spent YEARS studying in order to really seek to understand what God intended from these "gay passages". I am serious about this because I learned that we have seen the largest amount of teen and young adult suicide in the past few decades - and guess what corresponds to that - the word "homosexual" wasn't even in the Bible until 1946, just a few decades ago. Keep in mind that before the King James Bible (1611), the German Bible was translated and it says in Lev 18:22 and 20:13 "man shall not lie with little boys as he does with a woman..." THUS pederasty (NOT homosexuality) was considered the sin in these verses as well as I Cor 6:9 and I Tim1:10. It's up to our generation to fix this!

Ruben T, it appears from your comments that you think I am gay, which demonstrates that you obviously jump to conclusions from an inability to read accurately. Also, I never said I believe the Bible is outdated, so again, you add things to the text that just are not there! Such may help explain why you don’t seem to understand the Bible accurately as well. Also it appears from your comments on Romans 1 that you have never studied Greek at an academic level. Am I correct? Romans 1 says “even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature”. So do you think that the words “against nature” equal “sinful”? If your answer is “yes” then you would be attributing sin to God when Romans 11 uses the same Greek word to describe when God does an “unnatural” act by grafting in the Gentiles. Romans 1 is drenched in idolatry, and the same-sex activity in this passage is in reference to temple prostitution. I have seen pastors and well-meaning Christians perform hermeneutical acrobatics to come to other conclusions. Why not just let the Greek text speak for itself?? And why do so many people choose to take certain passages out of context. The damage to the LGBT community, in the name of God, has been horrible! Also, the Lord NEVER said “homosexuality is an abomination”. The word “homosexuals” wasn’t even in the Bible until 1946, and the men who put it there realized their mistake and took it out in a revised printing. (RSV). ALL of the biblical passages referring to same-sex activity are in reference to abusive types of situations, the kinds of situations that would be equally as sinful in a straight context. LGBT kids have a very high suicide rate, but if those kids are in a Christian home the suicide rate goes up by NINE TIMES! You would think that a Christian home would lower the suicide rate, but it has the opposite effect. Obviously the Church has been giving the wrong advice - advice that God never intended! This data alone should prompt your heart to dig in more deeply. But if “sin has gripped you” or “blinded you”, then it would explain why you don’t do your homework! Don’t you think Satan would like this misunderstanding and damage to continue? I think he would! Please dig in and then let’s have a more constructive conversation. God bless you.

Ruben T, sorry for the delay. Have been busy with church activities and work. Yes I have ASV and KJV versions. One of my ASVs is from 1901 and my oldest KJV is from 1633. Owning many old Bibles, I have seen how these versions have changed throughout the years. But in all honesty, I’d rather study in the Greek/Hebrew since the original is better than a translation of the original, don’t you think? Regarding Lev 18:22 and 20:13: are you familiar with the Reformation? This is a time when the Bible began to be translated into various languages rather than only Latin. Martin Luther translated the Bible into German about a century before the KJV. When he got to Leviticus, he noticed the word “zakar” which can be translated as “male, young boy, or man”. Hebrew is a very basic language, thus when this verse was translated, the translators needed to choose which word they would use “male, young boy, or man”. Martin Luther (along with the majority of European translators) felt that “young boy” was the most accurate translation due to the vast amount of pederasty in ancient times, as well as the writings in ancient commentaries, writings of the Church Fathers, and information that had been passed down for well over 1500 years. Therefore, the German version of 1534 reads, “man shall not lie with young boys as he does with a woman…”. Are you familiar with pederasty? It was a horrible practice of the ancient world where older men would have a continuous relationship with a young boy (8-12 years old). It was legal, it was acceptable, it was encouraged. It was horrible!! And for most of history, most Bibles in Europe, for most of the population these verses were translated to show a disdain for such abuse of young boys. It was the English translators who chose to use the word “man” rather than “young boy”, and hence our English reads “man shall not lie with man as he does with a woman…”. So the question we need to ask is, “who was accurate in their translation?” The English? Or the Germans, Norwegians, Swedes, etc etc etc? Also, if you choose the English decision of “man”, then you have to discard the vast majority of history and tradition in Bible translations. We English speakers seem to sometimes think we have a monopoly on truth, and need to be open to being corrected. The Pharisees felt they knew the accurate understanding of the Law, but Jesus Himself begged to differ with their thinking and challenged the “tradition” they had created. Regarding Romans 1, I would really encourage you to dig deeply to understand what that passage is saying. It requires a very thorough understanding of ancient temple worship, which included shrine prostitutes - both male and female. The primary worshippers were male, and thus were sometimes encouraged by their god to deposit their seed with the temple prostitute - sometimes being directed to the female, sometimes to the male. When Rom 1:26 talks about “women exchanging the natural use” it never says “women had sex with women”, but for some reason, non-Greek translations seem to include such error. This verse is referring to temple prostitutes exchanging the natural/norm of women of the day - to be at home making babies, not prostituting themselves to a Roman god. The vile activity happening in Romans 1 is when people don’t acknowledge God and end up worshipping idols, thus ending up in a temple with shrine prostitutes which gives glory to fake gods rather than acknowledging the one and only True God. Romans 1 is more concerned with focusing on the first commandment (thou shalt have no gods before me), rather than clobbering gay people. Regarding I Corinthians 6:9: the word “homosexuals” wasn’t even in any Bible until 1946. I went through the notes of those translators to see why they decided to use that word, and it appears they hadn’t done their homework. Then someone in the 1950’s challenged them to dig deeper and it turns out they realized their error and changed the word from “homosexuals” to “sexual perverts” in the next printing. But when the 1971 Living Bible, 1973 NASB, and 1978 NIV came out, they used the old 1946 version as their basis, without access to the decision the 1946 team made to change it. And guess what, the 1970s teams all depended upon the research of the 1946 team, and didn’t dig in themselves. The result is that since these 1970s highly influential versions, we have seen the highest amounts of teen and young adult suicide in the history of the world! LGBT youth have a high suicide rate, and if that child in a Christian home, that already high rate goes up by NINE TIMES! As a result, some very concerned pastors, seminary professors, and church leaders have been coming together to investigate further to see if we could have made a wrong turn somewhere. So in response to your comment, Ruben, yes we should be very concerned with modern versions! That’s why it’s best to take our investigation back to the first century when the New Testament passages were written. And this is what I have been spending the last several years doing. With big, big and huge respect to the Hanmaun Church and Clair Lee: Part 1 ::: I am a 52 year old @t in South Africa.Our big-line church and government has very recently also approved homosexuality/bisexuality.Please I beg you to read further.......Growing up as a Christian in a Christian family and being every Sunday in church- which condemn homosexuality/lesbianism/bisexuality those times (in which I will refer to as "gay" in further writing for the ease of it). Again : Our churches and government condemn gayness as a sin. Part ::2 Since childhood, I had a stronger desire to be with boys rather than girls. As I was growing older, the "attraction"becomes stronger and stronger. I could not understand why. Later around age 12 --- I know for sure that I was gay. Part 3 As I knew at that stage to be gay was wrong according to the Holy Word (Bible) I start fighting against it. One thing I really want you to understand, is that I have never, never, never ask or choose to be gay. In retrospect -- no one has. Who on earth would want to be gay and condemned by family,friends and society if they could have been normal?(heterosexual). I am emphasizing this fact again:No gay person choose to be gay.Please believe me on this one. So I had this continuous struggle to fight against it. And I start praying that Our Lord Jesus and the Almighty God Father and the Holy Spirit will take this struggle away. Not once. Not twice.But countless times.Crying before the Lord. Pleading with Him. Please God Jesus , take away this pain. (Only recently, after a very long intensive debate in church I realized that this was not only my prayer through the years. It was every gay`s prayer.And crying out. It is really not nice to be condemned the whole time. Part 4 More or less on age 30 (although it was a growing process for myself), I actively. deliberately, desperately accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior by getting baptized and openly declare that Jesus is my Lord and Savoir,has died on the cross for my sins and that I that my sins are forgiven.Because I was really, really tired of being rejected and condemned.I stopped dating boys and start dating girls.This went on for about 5 years. Then I realized that I am lying to myself. I am lying to the world.I am lying to the girls.And to @t this 5 years, I was terrible unhappy, depressed,crying,praying --- hear my heart. And I stopped dating girls. My desire to be with a man was still there. I went for counseling.I went for breaking of strongholds. I`ve tried everything possible.And in the process I have many conversations with God. So I ask God for an explanation or an answer. Then God answered me : When my Son was on earth, did He heal every one? Or just some? Did he heal all the leapers? Did he cast out all demons? Did the leapers ask to be leapers? Did the blind ask to be blind? The crippled ask to be crippled? Was every one healed on earth when Our Lord Jesus walked on earth? And God said: Did you ask to be gay?......... Just take up your cross and follow Me. Which I did . But still unsure.Did I hear right?Very recently, our church - -as I said the main line in South Africa realized that in the original original scriptures (where all the text referring to men sleeping with men ) was not the intention of the writer......I know you going to sit up straight now...... In those years and throughout the years in all nations and cultures up to today......there was and is and will always be be a percentage of men who want to sleep with men.That was fine with the author.What he actually had in mind was :::::::::::the raping of men:::::::::If you read the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, it is clear that at Lots house, men wanted to rape men.But that alone was not enough to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. The fact that they worshiped foreign gods, that they did not follow the commandments and laws of the time and other things was the main reason. The word "rape" or "raping men"had no term "rape" as we know it today,in those years. This is how I understand it now.....to be gay is a "sickness" like leprosy. Or cancer. or blindness.Death-mute. Is there a cure for all of these? Did any one who has it ask for it? Last part::::: Coming to the New Testament.Paul said. I wish that all off you can be single like me.Some is so by choice. Others are made like this.Others prefer to get married.Coming to the last point:::The Big Commandment:(By Jesus)Love your God firstly and wholeheartedly.Then love your nearest (others) like yourself. I am 100% sure he did not have homosexuality on mind when He said this.He had Love on His mind. The Agape (Godly Love) . And finally the conclusion: If two people love each other with an unconditional love, and they are in a relationship, without causing any hurt or pain, whether it is man and women ,men and men, women and women, blind and seeing, healthy and sick, what would Jesus say? As a Gay man : God,Lord Almighty, Jesus and Holy Spirit , I accept you as my Creator, my Leader, my Wisdom, my Insight, my Hope, My First Love and my Redeemer and Savior.
