FREEDOM FROM THE SUPERMARKET! YOU CAN DO THIS! Raising meat birds on very small acreage! Today on the farm vlog I'll show you how we set up our mobile coop or chicken tractor for putting our cornish cross meat birds on pasture, or in this case lawn. We'll teach about pastured poultry and hopefully give you some cool ideas for raising your own meat chickens for your family!

Stony Ridge, We used your design and had birds in there this spring. A few weeks back we believe that a raccoon reached thru the normal chicken wire and pulled 2 birds thru the wire. Since then we have upgraded the wire to 1/4 inch squares to prevent future reach in and pull thru of the wire. Just a suggestion based on our experience. So far no issues with the upgraded wire.

Hey Josh, I would install height adjustable wheel at 4 corners of your chicken mobile coop, to make it even mobile, so one day when you are sick (sorry) Mrs Stoney Ridge alone can push around with little effort . Just saying....I put my washing machine on wheels, cut plywood put four swivel wheels underneath with brake. I picked up from trash bin all the parts, I picked up 20 mm thick plywood, cut into washing machine base size, so make it mobile, I can mop clean the floor underneath, better. So my fridge, wardrobe, stand electric fan, cabinet, pretty much on the wheels 😃😃😃😃😃, I picked up plywood from trash. So fun. We live in tiny apartment so that is how I spent time at home.

Hey Josh thank you for the video I appreciate it and I have a question for you maybe you can answer it for me well I'm going to purchase a piece of property in about 1 or 2 years from now if everything goes well and I plan on having farm animals on my property but the question I have for you is could I let the animals eat whatever they find on the property like they would in the wild and including a horse to I want to have one of every animal I'm thinking about just that I watched your video not this one another one and you explain having farm animals is very expensive so that's why I just have a question for you like that there that I asked you

Your coop gave me an idea. Of course it would mean a total reconstruction. Due to the size of pipe you use why not incorporate the feeder and waterer in the structure? Make half the waterer and the other half a feeder? Just an idea that I might be able to use in the future.

Yep...drop the galvanized one and it will break too my friend.....I have 3 different waterers on the farm...this style is my favorite for the mobile coops...we carry 2 half full buckets of water to fill it every morning for the baby birds......50 birds at 4 weeks drink 5 gal per day......tip for ya...if you damage the inner seal at the bottom of the galvanized one...it will leak because it's epoxied together....you can use silicone caulk to repair....I've made this repair several times on metal waterers
