Brent Smith you are such a kindhearted, awesome person, (& hot as hell),your 2nd calling would be peer counselor or psychiatry. Mental health is very much a scary thing alot of peaple struggle with at some point in their life and i totally respect and admire your point of view. We need more peaple like you. I just turned 50 and the last three years have been a continuous struggle for me but your music totally puts me in a better place & carries me through the pain. I dont feel so alone. I seriously just remembered where i had seen you perform at and it was a hole in the wall place called the Alrosa villa in Columbus, Ohio in 2004ish. I think there were maybe 50 -75 other peaple attending.Afterwards my friends& i spent our very first night ( &only time) in Columbus jail. Long story. Ive been a huge fan ever since. I have a playlist of all my favorite Shinedown songs that I actually have to listen to every day, sometimes twice because it makes me feel 41:57 better, because i so relate to so many topics.( Also im addicted to your voice Brent Smith! So powerful & emotional and GENUINE!) You guys have an incredible gift and i so appreciate how you share it with the world! Also appreciate the way you keep your shows clean for kiddies.( i am a grandmother of 14, i pray you come back to Ohio in the near future,it would be a pleasure to see you in concert once again in my lifetime & perhaps bring along a few or all of my grandchildren, i believe it would be a wonderful, enjoyable & memorable time with them. Thanks for caring about others and speaking out on these tough subjects. I am also a recovering alcoholic/addict and have also had my share of depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma and your music has saved me more than once. You are appreciated. 😊

This last year when you were in Casper Wyoming i brought my fiance to your concert, it was his first concert ever and he does like your music like i do but was afraid to be at a concert thinking differently. And when you addressed the audience with your friendly encouraging words, my fiance just gasped in awe!! He had no idea you were like this and it greatly impressed him. He was so surprised and of course a fan for life. Mainly because hes had his own addictions and circumstances in the past and you really hit home with him ❤️ so for this i thank you so much for that and for caring!! You are an amazing person.

Brent, this video was amazing to watch. To see such an open and Frank dialogue of your struggles and how you continue to deal with them is fantastic. My eldest son is in recovery, it has been a real struggle as a family. But we are so so proud of how amazing he is doing in such a short time. We will be seeing you again in Glasgow end of this month and cannot wait although it will be first time he is in a licenced premises and a gig sober. So it will be a real challenge but one im absolutely certain he can overcome! We are bringing my youngest son for his first ever gig too and we cannot wait!
