🤣 They don't make it easy for people at level 0! It took us a while to trace each wires function.. The only thing we've learnt since this video is that it is worth wiring the air matrix directly to the heater power supply (using the black/red thing wire as the power wore to the air matrix control unit). This will allow the matrix to turn on at the same time as they burner itself 👍 It's excellent when you're asleep and have the burner on a timer 😎 (otherwise you have to wake up to turn on the fan every few hours)

CO2 would be your primary poisoning risk only if 1) your engine burned at 100% efficiency and 2) You operated your van for a long time within a tightly sealed space. Else, a highly useful and thoughtful guide. Thanks!

You're both amazing, what kind of background do you each have, very intelligent that's for sure, nothing seems to stop you both. There's one thing, I'm not sure if you've done it already or know, one of the other UK KZbinr's (Mel's Van Life) updated his fuel pump so that it was dangling, it seems if you don't let it dangle then it's noisy with that constant ticking when running, same as a fresh water fuel pump, needs to dangle too...lol!

We haven't touched the fuel pump yet, but we have it in our note to let it dangle. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂 Our backgrounds are mixed, a bit of mechanical knowledge, some woodwork, a sprinkling of maths and science. We are largely self-taught, we like to research and understanding what we are working with. I guess we are trying to become a "Jack-of-all-trades"😉

I'm also in the proceeds, since Nov 2019 of planning/designing a VW Crafter layout, I've put in my order 12 months prior to requiring it as I'm in Australia and I've already received a 5 week delay message for the parking assist mechanical part...lol...unlike you both, my head is topsy turvy over the electrical side of things, just can't wrap my head around it, I'm also over 50 years old...lol...needless to say I'm having to go interstate to have a qualified van converter build my van, the upside is that I won't have the van delivered to me until it's converted, so no insurance/registration or paying for the van until delivery, and makes it easier to get it there, as I'm a 6 hour drive away and one person can't drive two vehicles to get there and pick it up, it would cost me a hire car and airfare each time...lol! I'm still finding it hard to understand if I go 24V batteries, I'll have air conditioning (it's Australia after all, and an over 50 year old woman to go with that and it will be my fulltime home, eventually overlanding overseas with it too), electric hot water system and a diesel heater. I've added a 2nd alternator 180A and thought I'd go down the route of having a buck boost converter 12V-24V...argh!

You technically can have the glycol pump mounted on the outside of the van, so you could keep those running on the outside. We are putting out pump on the inside however 👍

We haven't yet no, but if you're talking about the air matrix with the 6 wires (2 red, 2 orange and 2 black), then the 2 orange are joined together and are the +, and the 2 blacks join together and are the - Then you connect this to whatever blower controller you have (it is different for each one), hope this helps 😊👍 cheers!

I purchased a kalori blower with built in fan speed control are you saying that if I just connect the wires per this commemt to the blower that I'll be able to use the easy start pro to control my blower unit to automatically maintain temperature in the van? So what you'll want to do is wire the Kalori blower as such: 1. Both orange and both black are + and - that go into the WPM ("banana" spades thing) 2. The Black/red thin wire coming from the Eberspracher unit will be wired into the Fan Controller, instead of a power line (so in the 4 slot piece, I believe it's numbered as 1, but double check the diagram, it's the one that provides power for the controller - this means the fan controller unit gets power from the Eberspracher furnace, which means when you use the easy start pro controller to turn the furnace on, this then turns on the fan controller and thus the fan) You can then connect a temperature control unit to the easy start pro, have the furnace turn on at certain temperatures and this, the fans will also turn on 👍

Easy start pro controller has 4 wire connector. But my Hydronic S3 D5E has only connector with 3 wires . Is there any solution to this?

Hmm, there should definitely be a 4 pin connector coming out the heater with the same colour wires as the easy start pro connector? There's a 3 wire brown/yellow/red that can be used for other controller types but the easy start pro has a specific connection port...

I’m trying to combine me airtronic and my hydronic together to the easy start pro controller. Online it says it’s possible but it doesn’t give instructions on how to do it??? Any idea?

You're right there is a way to do it, I believe it involves that small red/black wire, and the red/white wire we haven't used. I'm double checking for you as it is something we want to do as well, and when I have it working I'll let you know 👍 I believe instead of connecting your fan to your fusebox power, you instead connect to fan positive to the red/black wire from the furnace, but I'm not 100% sure
