From his days with Black Oak Arkansas, early-mid 70s, up to right now (2023) Tommy is still at a level most drummers will never achieve. Saw BOA several times and White Snake in 2018 and he's not lost a beat. Met the guy a few times and he is just as coo and humble as you see in the videos. Long live Tommy Aldridge!!!

I'm old enough to remember seeing Tommy Aldridge on his first tour with Black Oak Arkansas in the 70's. I was into drums then and don't remember taking my eyes off him. I was amazed by him then and I'm amazed by him now. And a super great guy to top it off.

I feel silly sometimes watching these videos because I get those blown away happy emotional tears then laugh at myself. Just imagining the sensation these amazing drummer's must feel faced with a crowd like this. Tommy is an absolute monster behind the kit, and seems such a humble down to earth human. Always loved Tommy. Huge inspiration for me in my youth in the 1980s. I love how he naturally often plays his hi hat foot on the "ands"... A groove is all about where the "ands" are felt. His solo on the Ozzy/Randy Tribute changed my life and I would bum rides to wherever I had to go to see Whitesnake back when this album came out to watch Tommy play. He always played a very similar solo and I loved every second of it.

I just love and highly respect your musicianship, Tommy! I remember going to (while I was studying at P.I.T., M.I.) some Yamaha drum show back in 1988 , at the UCLA. Great drummers, like Colaiuta, Gadd, Emory, Weckl etc., did their thing. After Tommy did his performance, some smart*** in the audience yelled: But, can you do that with ONE bass drum?... Being the gentleman Tommy is, he politely replied: - I could try? Then, he just smashed the same sh*t to piece, and totally owned it with...ONE bass drum. What a legend! - Thank you, Tommy.
