Always loved Tommy. Huge inspiration for me in my youth in the 1980s. I love how he naturally often plays his hi hat foot on the "ands"... A groove is all about where the "ands" are felt. His solo on the Ozzy/Randy Tribute changed my life and I would bum rides to wherever I had to go to see Whitesnake back when this album came out to watch Tommy play. He always played a very similar solo and I loved every second of it.

Great drummers, like Colaiuta, Gadd, Emory, Weckl etc., did their thing. After Tommy did his performance, some smart*** in the audience yelled: But, can you do that with ONE bass drum?... Being the gentleman Tommy is, he politely replied: - I could try? Then, he just smashed the same sh*t to piece, and totally owned it with...ONE bass drum. What a legend! - Thank you, Tommy. These aging musicians are a real inspiration for living! Sure you can look at these grannies who are still doing crossift, but the way Tommy is hitting those skins, from above it looks like a young buck that still lives for the metal n' the music like a 20 yr old! 🤘

I love watching Tommy play. Such a cool presence around the kit. Dudes an animal!
