really depends on the person. I've seen people do it successfully after 3 years. It took me about 7 years.

What are the requirements for running a production company ? Do you still do any shots yourself ? Because I personally enjoy doing cinematography a lot but also don’t wanna be working my whole life lol

Yea I shoot and direct a lot of projects. You can do a mix. Hire freelancers on some and work on some you enjoy. As long as you figure out how to get clients with a repeatable system, rest becomes more flexible
