The restaurant is still going strong, lots of customer from all races. I saw few tables with chinese, indian and malay sitting together chit chatting and eating together. Reminds me the good old days back in the 80s where all races eat and sit together and i think this should be the way to foster togetherness. Food wise is still tasty, been buying it regularly.

There are Malays in Indonesia too by the way, it's just that in peninsula Malaysia all Muslim Bumiputeras are used to be categorized as a "Malay Race". This is just different in Indonesia where a Malay Race of this sort doesn't exist and if anything they much prefer to be classified by their respective ethnicity (Javanese, Sundanese, Minang etc.). Malays are also an ethnic group in Indonesia, it's just that most other Indonesians from different ethnic groups mind if they are classified as a generic "Malay race" because they simply don't belong to the Malay ethnic group

Recipes from these minority groups also fusion a lot of ingredients from the Malay cookings over the decades!
