A brother of a lodge that meets at my building did just this with the order of the odd fellows. The group in the area was dying and he tapped into the folks he knew, made the odd fellows hall host many professional mixers for young leaders. He has now jump started 2 dying odd fellows halls and they are thriving.

We should be careful not to recommend him unless he is fit for Masonry. We are not allowed to let our prejudices keep good men out of the fraternity, so why should we let our prejudices (to pre-judge) allow someone of untested character in?
