What's The Deal With "Guild Wars 3", Marvel Rivals, & The League MMO?

Guild Wars 2 is one of the most populated mmos right now, I dont see a reason making a Guild Wars sequel.

For the second question of the week I have a few things to say so bear with me. 1. That was F up what the NCSoft CEO did to Arena Net. He threw Arena Net under the bus just to cover his own butt. F that guy. 2. I hope there is a Guild Wars 3 in the works, but to be honest the fact that it was announced like that means that it is probably 3 to 5 years away at the earliest. 3. I think it is possible for Guild Wars 1, 2, and 3 to coexist. GW1 is a co-op game and GW2 is a MMO. Both games are different enough not to cannibalize each other. If Arena Net makes GW3 a different genre as well it should be fine. I personally would like to see an ARPG in the Guild Was universe, something along the lines of Last Epoch, PoE, or Torchlight 2 (Not 3 just 2, 3 was bad).

I think Riot has the potential to make a new online game. Whether it is an mmo, that remains to be seen. It's pretty far outside their genre, and those things are expensive. Da bomb: Computer gaming in the 2020s. This is the golden age of computer games. There is no other world where a dragon dogfight on line game would get funded. Shout out to Century: Age of ashes. A-bomb: The stuff LoL players are going to say to each other when they wipe in a raid in Riot's new mmo.

In the prior video, you indicated people could pick from various options, which is why the answers were all over the place, or had you thinking they were for questions from prior weeks. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJCbXn9nmZl9oLs As for the *two* this week: I'm not expecting anything from the Riot MMO, with at best anything they did being reworked into something else. The statement they gave about what they had supposedly not being different enough, just seemed like a way of giving themselves an out for that project. For Guild War 3, a lot of times when I see people talking about sequels to service based games, they sound like people used to playing product based games, where if the company wants to continue things, they make a new game. Although with service based game, they just make new updates for the existing title. Only reason a sequel to a service based game should be made, is if they want to do something different enough from their existing title/s in that IP, as has been seen in various past sequels for such games (ex: Lineage I & II, as well as Guild Wars 1 & 2).

QotW: Yes the League of Legends MMO will see the light of day as an MMO. You don't announce a project that big and (from a studio perspective) likely to be highly anticipated by your fanbase and then never release it. It WILL come out as an MMO, but not until like 2030 or something. QotW 2: Not only should they be working on GW3, it should have been out already. I get that MMOs are designed to stay around longer than single player games, but twelve years is waaay too old for a game to still be on the market tech wise. The year that your current MMO hits ten years old, your new MMO should debut that same year or the year after. If it makes financial sense to keep both running then cool, if not move on to the new thing. FF 14 was the most popular MMO on the market the last couple of year so that pushed the limit a bit, but we should already be talking about FF 17 Online coming in the next year or so.

League of Legends, the MOBA. Most usually refer to the project as the "RIOT MMO."
