Totally agree. The internet is great, but taking a conscious break always feel amazing!

It broke in really beautifully! It fits way better than it did before and it was great before. Didn't expect it can be better actually as it is now

I love that jacket (and many other grizzly jackets)! I have a Thedi Leathers jacket with pony fur on the outside and I love having such an ostentatious jacket. I'm a little paranoid about ruining it, myself, though I probably over-baby it.

Your jacket sounds awesome! And I really wanna try Thedi some day.

"It laughs in the face of chocolate cake..." Okay, I'm stealing that line. And if I ever see this jacket without it physically attached to you, I'm stealing it. Just thought I'd let you know. These car videos rock. We need one a week about, well, anything. Quite endearing.

😂 yeah if you see the jacket unattended just take it- that’s the responsible thing to do 😄 Glad you enjoyed the video. Always good to hear from you, sir

Love the grizzly style and it looks great on you, Dave. I'm just short, skinny and have short arms so jackets are tough. I would definitely need to try one on before pulling the trigger. Having some custom measurements done for my Aero was definitely a good call for my first leather jacket.
@thevintagefuture65678 ай бұрын
Thanks man! And yeah, as far as I remember, all jackets were custom measurements back in the 30s etc, so you’re technically doing it the “real” way 😄

I know, right?! They still have their grizzly model, but not this exact one.

Is it just me or does it feel odd wearing heritage clothing in modern America? Like you can’t just walk into a McDonald’s or a JCPenney without thinking “oh yeah im wearing a grizzly jacket”.

I totally hear what you’re saying….and honestly I’m in some ways diluting the “cosplay” angle of this hobby for myself, compared to how I used to be….All that said, NO- I truly believe that if you style something well, you can wear almost anything. Especially cuz I live near Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and Oakland in California, all places where the conventional ideas about style are all broken every minute of every day…So for me, I’ve begun wear this jacket over normal clothes, and it increasingly feels to fit better in modern life….But again, your point is good- too much of this stuff and you look like you’re wearing a costume. It doesn’t bother me so much, and I do it sometimes, but I totally understand when someone says it’s weird haha

A little off topic, but which brand would you say is the Viberg of leather jackets? That is, the best in terms of quality to dollar spent and available off the rack.
@thevintagefuture65678 ай бұрын
I’m not the best to ask honestly….But there are a few companies known as the go-to safe RTW companies: Aero, Thedi, Vanson, Rainbow Country. People will argue about which ones are absolutely best/most historical etc, but I say, if you love it and love how you look and feel in it, it’s perfect. Cuz all these jackets are more jacket than you could wear out in a literal lifetime. So yeah, someone’s gonna say Y2 is best, another will say Real McCoys, another Aero, another Freewheelers, another the custom shops like Himel and Field….some of those are objectively better than others for sure….but all of them are WAAAAAY better than mall brand crap. All real and quality leather. I went to Standard and Strange and tried on 10 different jackets. At the end of the day, the nicest among them was subjectively “crap” for me if it didn’t look right and make me feel right. On the other hand, my Freenote is inferior to a Himel or Freewheelers, but I literally wouldn’t trade it for one of those cuz it’s exactly what I want. I sold my nicer RMC jacket and still have the Freenote; here we are 🤷🏽♂️😂 Just has to do with what vibe you want. Summary: I think most people who don’t get caught up in the crazy rabbit hole vortex will be happy for the rest of their life with an Aero, a Thedi, or a Vanson, maybe Rainbow Country if you want something historical looking. Personally, I think Aero and Thedi look the best on account of the leathers and liners and features. My next jacket will probably be a Thedi, almost certainly….If you’re in the States, Thurston Brothers is a good place to order through, if you can’t order direct.
