I think it's a fair take! 👍 I forgot about the spawn, but in my example it would be like the spawn system where every player would pick the tiles in the beginning in the game, like the setting used in 1v1! (you had a video where you've shown how Brasil map was good for 1v1 and you had to manually place the tiles)

Hey Pete, I was Blue in this game. Got my a** kicked, but it was a pleasure finishing second against one of the best players in the game :) I started to play these settings just recently and learned by watching your videos. Wish I could attack faster, but I play on a cell phone, can't make the game work on my computer. That's why I'm in a major disavantage against fast players, especially in the 60 second format. Keep up the good work!

Hey Pete, amazing game, I love how you finished Orange and blue! At 23:56 when both of them didn't have a set on 3, you could have killed orange triggering a trade (he only had 14 on cap and you started with a trade so in total 70 troops) and go into an easy 1v1 with blue (you did it 1 turn later after orange traded)... Of course it's always easier to see it afterwards, keep it up Pete!

I had a thought about possibly preventing collabing. It may not work with the Risk system where every game you play effects your ranking but you (the devs not you yourself) could have it that when someone clicks to play, they are put in a random lobby and if they leave the lobby it effects their rating. I know it’s not something you can do but it might be a possible solution

Not a bad idea. Except that now you're punishing someone who leaves a lobby that never fills up, or when the host never fires the game, or even when they click into what is an obvious collab game. Not to mention how many would just not ready up, which either adds unwanted bots, or runs the risk of a game not firing at all? And the random lobby idea assumes there are multiple games of the settings you clicked to play.

The obvious solution, in my opinion, is that in ranked play you shouldn’t be able to pick your own settings, there should be 3 or 4 settings on rotation each season, obviously they should attempt to make them as diverse as possible, then we grind each ladder based on what we’d like to play, and finally we wouldn’t be stuck playing caps for the most optimal rank. If you wanna pick your own settings, play casual, boom, ez, also keeps the game more interesting than spamming caps every game because we (kinda) have to if you want to gain rank without losing your sanity

I'm new to cap games, several times recently someone has placed there capital next to mine and I have rolled it and won. Splitting troops on two capitals early is tough but still seems like a fairly good play.

Haha I don't know why anyone would get the bright idea to neighbour cap on these settings but I like to punish it aggressively when it happens

I don't mind long games as long as they have a hard out. With meta settings we could play 40 mins or we could play 12 hrs and there's no way to know which. I just don't have that big a block of unscheduled time.

8:40 Bold of Johnny to assume that we're not already actively doing this. When you think about it, does your vote really matter/have any effect? We live in an illusion of freedom, we are bound to the state by fiat money and what solidifies our chains is the amount of debt we accumulate. For my generation it is the norm to go into debt just to buy a house.

Yeah this is why I responded the way I did. The two questions I'd ask on the subject are: Does your vote matter? And if so Can we be trusted to make decisions on our own behalf? I do not believe the former but I do believe the latter.

For that dude who asked should people under 85iq be able to vote, the answer is yes. Firstly, iq is relative to your generation, with newer generations having a higher standard for 100iq (mainly due to more available knowledge), secondly, people often vote for economic reasons, so that ought to be bad if you can't vote to look after yourself, thirdly you'll find the very intelligent to be arrogant, and you could presume lower iq people would be more inclined to enter Labor jobs (do note low iq can be due to a lack of education, so people who are immigrants or low SES in background would have less of a voice, thus making the smarter/richer richer (based off legislation and policies as a result of voting), finally and a big point, how can 85 be the cut off, and how do you choose the exact number (why not have 115 the minimum, or 130 so only geniuses can vote, or only supercomputers, pretty dumb lol) (people in the 70's aren't dumb most of the time, they struggle to learn, as iq tests mainly learning capacity and previous knowledge, so in my eyes it is an utter bullshit idea) W video Pete.

Found some spicy settings I’ve been enjoying, France world dom with blizzards. With 6 players and blizzards everyone starts with 4 territories. Early game is all about troop conservation, then eliminate the weak players when the time is right. Bonuses are optional haha.

Interesting cap choice, I would have capped on the 3 in russia and tried to take Scandi->Russia. What do you think of that plan?

I think that would have been a little risky not seeing other caps along with having no vision on 4 other Russian positions, 2 of which being border choke Russian caps where people tend to cap. This also include 2 other regions border zones that are cap hot spots he can't see in scandy and orient. He took a split bonus cap but the Germ region tends to be a thru way on the board which means if pete holds it, its a bonus bonus and if not his cap is open for runs.

@gumbus75 But Scandi was probably 90% to get anyway, so having a base in Russia as a potential expansion point makes sense surely? Also plenty of lines off the cap to keep it open.

@@theinacircleoftheancientpu492 Always that "Risk" :) but couldn't see the edge border of scandy which is a noob magnet hotspot with a 50/50 to also run into a fight to the deather noob for a 3 bonus. GM's and Masters tend to pick spots of most knowledge and risk adverse, unless they are doing a challenge game. They may not say it outloud but if you watch enough of them you will notice it in their play.

@gumbus75 What you say makes sense, I don't play risk but been watching Pete for a bit. I think my tendency is naturally to be a bit greedy, which may sway my ideas negatively.
