Yeah I really think he expanded too quickly. Going after yellows cap early was a mistake. In my opinion I think he should have expanded from his pocket.

​@@aaronrichards19886no no, getting yellow cap was crucial. Rolling magenta cap is a good move I don't think I would go for. The mistake was in the next turn, trying to f up red instead of taking all his bonuses and stabilising. He probably could even kill bot, set, kill 2 bots, set, then give no chance for red. But because he didn't, he gave red the kills on bots and their cards have let red come back while bots fd up Pete.

Red was too weak at that moment to adress Pete so there was 0 point adressing red, esepcially because red didn't have much info and other problems ahead of him

The video title says it all. Just one of those times where a win felt so certain you didn't guard the bots taxing your bonuses in midgame. Hard to watch but you held your emotion in check really well. I agree with the other commenter that a retrospective review would be interesting to watch.

All been there. Surprised you didn’t just kill yellow for three cards the turn before they setted and f’ed you! Title said it all, really, but the one line takeaway for me is “When you are in a one v one with multiple active bots participating, and a bot is positioned to break your bonus(es) take a moment to consider your fight with that bot rather than just doing the normal thing of piling into your human opponent, especially when they are having to deal with the other Bot.” By the way, Pete, I hit GM yesterday, largely thanks to your and Kyle’s vids. Love the channel.

I have seen a few losses by the old Peteman in some of the videos. What is most telling about your character my friend is you stay calm and happy to see another person do well. You only get angry when you see someone else make dumb mistakes. You just want everyone to do better! Admirable. (That and when people bot out)

Pete the reason you lost was allowing yellow to hold so many bonuses to keep breaking you and then you took reds capital when you knew it was pressured. I think it was emotions of wanting to dominate after loosing so much. But calmer heads prevail.

@@LithmusEarth so normally if it’s in q&a time u can ask him about why he did/didnt take a cap/bonus ect. & he will pull up old Pete behind him answer. For this vid i would mainly ask “between taking yellow player cap & getting broken by yellow bot if he would play it different. Answer could be as simple as yellow bot shouldn’t have been left unchecked or focused on 1v1 with red 2 early but I like 2 get insight since l learn game from him and vampire chicken

I think your biggest mistake was hitting red/exploring instead of breaking yellow the turns after you took the magenta/pink cap. I think those two turns are where you lost. Edit: watching that second turn of exploration again, I think 58 troops might have been enough to kill yellow, in which case I think you certainly would have won.

Why is there a "rule" don't cap in Iceland? - that is already rule 3 (?) - "don't cap in corners" isn't it? IMHO "don't over extend" might be a better alternative "rule" and Iceland is just a really bad example of capping in a corner. Not saying KP overextended here (although perhaps he did?)

Wayyyyyyyy too aggressive Pete. I think you had that game up until you tried to balance three caps against huge bots. Red won because they had a turn after beating purple to rebuild. Though it’s tough to say since taking out the magenta cap was certainly a great move. Either way I find it hilarious that yellow outlived you despite swiping their cap turn 2 😂

If you had taken and held bonuses against the bots you could've snowballed hard and killed bots to hit a weakened red. No idea why you let yellow hold bonuses and break yours. Red was too weak to get out past the magenta bot for quite some time when it had a 25 against his cap after battling purple for noob corner.
