I have my mock exam with the chief flight instructor on Wednesday and if all goes well I will get my checkride date. I can't even begin to express how grateful I am that you have created all of this content for FREE. I've watched many of your videos several times and learned more here than I did in ground school. Thank you for everything and I wish you nothing but continued success in life. You deserve it.

These videos have been an excellent supplement to my textbook readings. In fact, there are some videos in which I think you explained it much better than the textbook. Thanks for creating this series!

I think it's my favorite video of the series so far, I giggled quite a bit. Amazing information to know, I will enjoy not getting exploded by a stray missile cause I thought the scenery was pretty.

Good ol P-47. Pantex plant. It's where they disarm nuclear weapons so...makes sense why they wouldnt want you flying there.
@FreePilotTraining2 жыл бұрын
Ah, Nice! I knew they did something with nukes, but I wasn’t sure what exactly they did.

MOAs question: who to contact to ask if we can get in? contact the controller on the frequency printed on the chart? can I call some miles away flying towards it? Pragmatic question here. THanks in advance.
@FreePilotTraining2 жыл бұрын
They are going to be controlled by center or approach. Whoever owns the airspace. Military pilots will call approach or center and tell them they are established in a certain section of the MOA and the controller will vector IFR traffic around those segments. VFR traffic is permitted to go right through, but if the MOA is active, that might not be the smartest thing to do. If you look at the chart, there is typically a sliver of airspace right between the upper and lower level MOAs so pilots can transit without interfering with military training operations

Question... if I reach out to atc to find out about going through a cluster of restricted areas, do I need to specify all of the zones by number or simply ask if any of the restricted areas near "R-123" or "any on my route (if flight following enabled) are active?
@FreePilotTraining4 ай бұрын
They should be able to help you out with a cluster if you’re on ADSB and a transponder. Just keep in mind, that’s technically not their job, so be nice when you ask for the help

Did my PP-ASEL years ago, the whole time in an MOA, but uncontrolled space otherwise. I find it interesting that new pilots who learned in tower controlled space are a little anxious about the lack of control at little places. On the other hand, for me the communication load in controlled space was a bit scary - frightened to sound like an idiot, remember the transponder code you have never changed, please don’t do a 65 mph pattern. Oh… what’s a pattern? Vector your ass as told.
@FreePilotTraining2 жыл бұрын
Lol. It’s crazy how comfortable we can get in different areas if we never get out of our comfort zone
