Fantastic work! The dragon's head and feet are beautiful! You know what would be another awesome idea? Making a sheath with a highly decorated, outer metal layer. Wood on the inside (like the beautiful one you made here) and a sheet layer of steel outside, perhaps with many protruding decorative parts (something like those fleur-de-lis symbols), mainly at the top and bottom of the sheath. I imagine runes, celtic designs and a big dragon engraving or embossment on the front. The hilt should also have some steel, maybe a big oval on both sides. it would all be heavy, but it would be only for a real warrior to wield anyway.

Amazing job with the guard and pommel 😮 the damascus pattern is also stunning. My personal taste and opinion you should also groove the blade like the Witcher one but anyway it's Great craftmanship. 🎉 this can be a way better Targaryen sword than Dark Sister.

Incredible how much forging thhat video is. Some other smiths on youtube just forg a sword lenght bar and they remove material to shape the blade. In this videos u can see how he is forgin a complete sword not only bar. Overall beautifull work and stunning to watch. Im asking myself how did the smiths in 13 to 18 century produced complex metal parts without soldering technology, only with forging and much time?
@auberonedebruina8258 Жыл бұрын
THere are other reasons for that. The grain of the different layers comes out better through the sanding, a bit like cutting a book diagonally from the front to the back. The teardrop pattern, on the other hand, would almost disappear with the sanding.
