Try this 'Roll to Back' sequence if you're a beginner breather, or you have a more challenging breathing side.
Once mastered, swimmers will find more 'time and space' to breath naturally in their freestyle.
👍This demo is swum over 25m, breathing / or rolling every 3 strokes, bilaterally. But you can also use it breathing every 4 to the same side.
✅The sequence includes a complete roll to back, encouraging rotation not head lifting to breath.
✅The head-spine line stays neutral or straight.
✅Notice how the anchoring arm, stays long, extending the body's axis, to assist rotation
✅Stroke - roll to back - inhale - roll to streamline PAUSE - begin the cycle again with your 'recovery arm' moving first.
👊The sequence take a lot of focus, and movement control, which improves with practice.
❗️But note, when we breath in freestyle, we do not want to 'over rotate' - just encourage the breath to come from torso rotation not head lift!
