So 11/4/2022, I am in the USA, and I started my first Libre 3 sensor. I had been on the Libre 2 for about 3 months. I did not realize I was not going to need to scan with the Libre 3, and was looking for info when I found this video. Its not quite 24 hours, and I am loving that I don't need to scan. and the MARD 7.9 is impressive. So far I am seeing +/- 10 points sensor vs finger sticks. Again, not quite 24 hours old, but so far I am liking it. oh, And I am using a Android based phon. It did tell me when I started the sensor that it was not yet supported. But it seems ok.

SO SO HELPFULL im just now starting down this road and have been glucose testing on and off for over a yr. Just starting Metformin didnt know where to find info on a fulltime monitor. ILL subscribe for any updates and to see more content on your Channel thru my Roku while watching on Tv

Thank you for the update. I started with Dexcom G5 and went to G6. Was a good CGM but had its drawbacks as all devices do. My insurance no longer supports Dexcom and I went to FSL2. Works for me as I’m a little OCD so don’t get to look at my watch and micro manage my numbers. Recently bought a Miaomiao but can’t get it pair with app. Still working on it. Very excited for the FSL3. The 2 is small enough that I don’t really feel it. Thanks again.

Thanks for the comment! I used the Miaomiao as well for a short period of time, found a few too many connection issues and trouble keeping it on. Let me know what you think of it.

I like the FL2 reader too. I have no idea why they are so slow getting up to speed with the Android app. Also, I like to keep my phone battery full without a BT drain on the battery all the time. I've been type 1 for 51 years and this is life changing for me. Great video and keep the faith. I was just prescribed the FL3 today so it'll be interesting how it works

My Libre2 reader quit working. My doctor prescribed the Libre3 but my old phone would not work with the Abbott lab application. I bought a new Google Pixel 7a and it works fine. The Libre2 reader was always falling off my belt and constant lack of communication. So after a week the Libre3 has not lost communications with the sensor. Since I came from the Libre2 I could not figure out how to take a manual reading. You cannot manually read so the 1 minute update has worked so far. Great so far. As you said the sensor is the same cost as the Libre2 sensors. Depending on your insurance mine is $85.00 for two sensors which last for 4 weeks. The Libre2 sensors worked for the same time. Also as you said the sensor is smaller. The instructions tell you to only put the sensor on your arm but I had been using the Libre3 on the side of my stomach and I did put my sensor in that location and so far it is working fine. One last detail is on the new phone you have to allow the notifications for low/high alarms. By default it does that but you could accidentally turn them off while trying to disable alarms from other applications. So far so good. I like not having to carry the separate device around because I always have my phone with me in a belt pouch.

Nice summary, thanks for the info. I have a question though that I couldn't find easily. For libre 2 if you don't read for several hours or libre 3 (you don't have the phone near you for several hours) will the senzor send the data for that hours back to the phone when it's being read? thanks!

Currently using the Libre. Would like to upgrade to Libre 3. But, Abbot manuals show that it isn’t compatible with my iPhone 14 Pro or with constantly upgraded iOS 16.3 Any idea if Abbot will coordinate with newer phones and os?

I like using the reader, since it has a glucose meter to validate FSL2 sensor. How do you enter notes at specific times.

Both the reader and phone app allow for notes. The notes in the reader though are limited, unable to put in text like on the phone. To actually add the note you click the little pencil icon in the top right corner of the screen.

Yep, using “LibreLinkUp” you can share glucose data and glucose notifications with other people who have the app installed on their phone.

That is unfortunate there is no reader. Because Iwork in a sensitive facility I cannot take my mobile telephone into work with me. I love the real CGM, but I guess i'll have to use FL2 until I retire.

I'm just t the end of a trial Libre 3 that my Endo provided. Was using the 14 day which runs very low....a lot! Better in the middle and higher end. New as of USA release MARD 7.9 for Libre 3, best on the market. It even beats the implantable Ev er Sense. You still need to lug around a finger stick meter for fact checks before treating lows or highs. Also, they've taken away the running 24 hour BG average. The GMI info is nice but not really helpful with day to day management. If you are using Eat To The Meter to manage your BG (+/- insulin and air meds) you need to know that this one doesn't allow you to save specific numbers at specific time points as there is not scan function. It just updates your IFG reading every minute. So you have to set some kind of alarm/reminder to check at your pertinent time point s and record the reading in your food journal. This particular thing is a problem for me. On there up side...if you have become a bit OCD about scanning your Libre 2 or 14 day, or tend to miss information because you get busy and forget to scan, then no worries, The Libre 3 stores info up to 14 days in case of out of bluetooth range issues and uploads to LibreView automatically. You also don't have top stay up later or wake up earlier to scan and preserve data....and we all know quality of sleep is key for diabetes management. The sensor is so small I forget it is there. And due to smaller size it seems less prone to compression lows. Over all I'm liking the Libre 3 and plan to make the switch. BTW: Applying the Libre 3 a day or 2 before activating it when changing out sensors improves the accuracy out f the starting gate....an issue with ll CGM sensors.

@@karlahernandez5750 So on the Libre 3, unfortunately they will no longer have a reader, it will only work with a phone which is unfortunate. I also use the reader with the Libre 2 and prefer it over a phone.

I am a home health nurse and use my phone for work. I am constantly talking to doctors and don't want to use my phone for my 2. I like the reader.

@@saraheart2804 I agree with you 100%. I wish they kept the reader for the Libre 3. I’m hoping if enough people express interest in using a reader, maybe they’ll bring it back. I guess we’ll see.
