Is there a difference in freestyle parlance between "rail" and "primo"? Or does it just matter toeside and heelside?
@mike_osterman14 жыл бұрын
Yeah! So Primo is a moving trick. Primo Desiderio is a freestyler from the 1980s who invented a trick where you slide in rail stand. That trick is named after him. Any time you’re just standing on the side of your board and you’re stationary, it’s a rail stand.

Thank you guys. I'm a fifty-three year old ramp rider whose been trying to learn street tricks since this corna pandemic began and I'm at home with my kids. Although the pain I have to endure for days if not weeks on end when I fall trying to learn these tricks is almost unbearable, I'm still motivated to learn them....and now even more so with this very helpful video at my disposal. Started freestyle skating recently, I have a lot of balance issues as a result of my shity life history so I look kinda funny, but heelside railstand is the first "trick" I learned. I actually find it harder to do on a carpet or grass because the ground is less stable.

In my opinion, I think It's supposed to help you get comfortable with getting into the position or the movement you need to get into the stand, not necessarily stay in it. Good observation!

Lukas Tschorn Get shoe goo! Apply some on the shoes when they're new in the areas you know are wearing out first. Once the shoe goo wears out on the shoe, simply apply another layer before you break through the shoe material. I've been doing this for years and my shoes last between 7-12 months depending on how lazy I'm being with application.

Freestyle can be executed with a normal board ? I notice most freestylers have weird looking boards. But to me it is the most impressive form of skating. I can’t believe it’s not more popular. Give a 9yo a ramp and he can grab air by the end of the hour…. But doing so much with nothing!? Now THAT friend is impressive!

I've noticed in a lot of your videos that sometimes when you get up into a rail stand, you do this backwards shuffle. Is that shuffle a way to maintain your balance when going into the rail, or is it a trick/move? Does it have a name?
