Sinead, since 1986 I have had scores of London walking tour guides many of whom have been outstanding but none better than you. The City of London is my favorite part of that great capital. Even with the modern buildings it’s just breathes history. Once London enters your soul it will never leave you.

I'm SO glad you mentioned the fact that 'ye' as in 'Ye Olde' is not actually pronounced 'ye'. In the early printing presses they used 'y' to represent the sound 'th'. This had originally been the letter thorn Þ (still in use in Icelandic) and as the European presses didn't have a Þ they improvised and used 'Y'.

Hello, again, Sinead. We met in May 2019 when you were my guide on this very tour. It was very enjoyable back then, and watching this KZbin version brought back nice memories of being in London pre-pandemic. [I was the person who knew that the current monarch became Elizabeth the Second in February 1952. I wonder how many other of your clients knew that, too, after you were trying to "catch" us! -- ha, ha] Anyway, for the future, I'd love to see some of these same sights over the Christmas holidays ... all the street lights! Not just Regent Street, of course, but both embankments, too, and other areas. London is beautiful during the holidays! Best wishes, and continued success.

As a Royal Air Force apprentice, in 1969 we were taken to Horse guards parade for a parade with the Army. From there we were marched to the Cenotaph for the remembrance day parade. Afterwards we were marched to Saint Clement Danes Church for a Church parade. Just as we thought it was all over a coach took us to route line for the Queen at Windsor and then on to a cinema to watch the film, The Battle of Britain. A coach full of tired apprentices arrived back at RAF Halton. I am now retired and live with my Thai family in Bangkok. My Thai step daughter has a burning desire to visit London. Thank you for the inspiration of places to take her.

Hi Sinead, As a Londoner I find these walks very interesting, and a great insight into a tourists eye view of London. I conclude that they will have a great time, and learn a lot about London in a short time, if they can remember half of what you tell them. I think you’re right to draw attention to the contrast between the noisy areas and the quiet courtyards and backstreets, and the numerous green spaces which make London special. Can you tell me how you acquired your knowledge of London?

Wonderful to find a guided walking tour of London. The last time I was on such a tour was in '17, though it was a very hot day, and did not cover as much ground. Also had a coach tour of London in '84, which included a visit inside Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, and St. Pauls. That night I saw Pygmalion, sitting in the front row, and Peter O'Toole was the actor, and the play was included on my Travellers tour sponsored by TWA. It was amazing to see a living acting legend and Great British actor so close. He related so well to the audience, and played his part so well. I had only seen one other play on such a scale, Cyrano De Bergerac, in San Francisco. I appreciate the sharing of this video, and the professionalism and insight of the guide.

Only having fleetingly (see what I did there... Fleet.. no ? ok) well only having visited London a handful of times and for short periods in my life, I would love to do one of these walks one day. Unfortunately at the age of 59, I now have osteoarthritis of the knees and an ankle, and so it looks as if it will never happen. I must give all dues to Sinead though, what a clear speaker and someone who shows and shares genuine enthusiasm for what is a very interesting subject of London, it's buildings, places, history and people. If I ever have a miracle cure, I will be heading down to the smoke and seeking Sinead out, but it looks as if I will have to appreciate her and London from afar x

Sinead, We just got back from a long weekender in London to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. This video and others of yours certainly enriched our experience... thank you Sinead and the rest of the company. Our first stop as soon as we landed on Friday was of course Smithfield market, where I had planned to sell my wife for at least a bag of cookies! As it happens there were no takers and I couldn't even give her away, so she had to tag along for the rest of the trip! We went for a walk down Fleet Street on Saturday afternoon, starting at the architectural marvel that is St Pauls. As we progressed down Fleet Street, I was able to impress my wife with my newly found knowledge of Prince Henry's rooms, the Old Cock Tavern and Elizabeth 1st's statue at St Dunstans. We wandered up by Samuel Johnson's house and took a minute by the statue of Hodge the cat! We went into St. Brides church for a sit down and I told her all about the tiered wedding cake story and the little pub opposite. Finally, we ended our wee trip by having drinks and eats in the wonderful Old Bank of England pub. What a gem that is! As we sat there, her drinking a glass of rose wine and me a tall glass of beer, I asked her what her highlight of the walk was. She replied "standing in front of the First Dates restaurant in Paternoster Square"!!!! Forgive me, but two thoughts quickly entered my mind .... 1. Were the Royal Courts of Justice open on a Saturday to accept a divorce application on the grounds of my wife being obviously deluded and deranged! .... 2. What a pity that Sweeney Todd was no longer taking hairdressing appointments........ Sinead, I was hoping to fit one of your tours in, but the only one conveniently timed for us this weekend was your evening Jack the Ripper tour, but I would love to take this tour in the dark, so will catch it over the winter months/longer evenings. Thanks again for imparting your knowledge, wit and friendship through your wonderful videos.

@@Sineadlondontourguide Thank you Sinead. I'd swap places with you in a heartbeat ... although I wouldn't burden you to a lifetime of misery with my wife! Only joking, she's a wonderful Irish woman full of charm and wit .... very much like yourself!

Love it when ever you say "Ladies and Gents" If you have time check out the "Old Whitechaple Bell Foundry" before it's gone, I think it cast Big Ben. St. Paul's is outstanding in everyway. Also think about it, there were no powered tools of any kind while being constructed, amazing. Again a outstanding watch. Stay safe Stay strong

The Old Whitechapel Bell Foundry has closed, unfortunately. They also made the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. And yes, building St. Paul's with now power tools is an amazing accomplishment.

This was another very interesting tour I joined thinking that I’d only watch a part of it. I couldn’t leave however because your presentation held me captive until the end. It was an excellent commentary matched only by the high standard of the filming.

I visited London 20 years ago. This was before Harry Potter, the movie, was released. We stayed in Hammersmith at a B&B on Shepherds Bush. We took the Underground to Central London. I’d wanted to tour the Tower of London. Unfortunately my, then, fiancé had a bum knee, so that was an “ain’t.” Sinade you do a fantastic job! It’s easy to tell you really love your profession!! ♥️☘️

@@ToursbyFootLondon I look forward to watching… I love going to historic places… I’m trying to imagine London during the time of Queen Elizabeth I… My heart goes to the present monarch; at her age she does not need all this. God Bless the Queen!
