This is going straight to my favorites list. Downtown Dallas has, easily, one of America's standout skylines. The fact that it's ringed on all sides (with several spokes heading away from downtown) by freeways (both ground-level and elevated ones) makes Downtown Dallas a perfect skyline for filming at night. I was thinking, "I wonder if he's going to feature the High 5 interchange at the end, just to put the icing on the cake?", and sure enough, there it was! 6 stars*, my friend.

Wow, that's really an awesome view of Dallas at night. That lighted arrow on I-30 is probably the only arrow w/ lights in the country on an urban freeway that I can think of. I'm ready for that next video.

@0marigolds -Thanks, it may not look it on the video but we had a few "thrilling" moments on those roads that night, crazy Texas drivers :)

@VaFreeways D-FW has a pretty large rail network in terms of mileage. The TRE runs from downtown Ft Worth to Downtown Dallas. The Red Line and Blue Line both run from the northern suburbs through Downtown Dallas to southern Dallas. The M-Line runs through Uptown Dallas to Downtown and is about to be expanded through downtown. Money approved. The huge Green Line and Orange Lines are under construction running from the Northwestern burbs and DFW-airport to downtown. All this started in 1996.

@Bryant5493 Thanks Bryant, my son loves that lighted arrow :) In the next video you'll get the next best thing to seeing the High Five in person, it is the most impressive interchange I've ever seen, from what I gather the only other in it's class is the I-110/I-105 in LA, which I've never seen personally.

@VaFreeways -They do have DART rapid transit in Dallas. I saw in an article recently where Texas has the #1 Transportation infrastructure for business of all 50 states, mostly due to Highways & Airports I would think.

@Freewayjim At the intro, I see the outside screen part of the camera on the intro. I'm not sure if you had that when you first uploaded the video.

Dang this is old now Woodall Rodgers freeway extends to the margret hunt hill bridge and is capped off by a park lined with condos. Oh and forgot to mention that the chase tower is lit up in blue LED lights and the Bank of America plaza is now lit up in LED lights as well instead of green tubing lights.

Love the videos you've been posting Jim. I'm a road enthusiast as well. By the way, what's the name of the music track? Nice selection.

I have bits and pieces of it, one from 2007 has it from I-635 to downtown and video #13-57 has about 10 miles of it southbound from north of I-635. 13-57 Dallas #1 of 2: The Cutting Edge

Georgina Rodman I don't know the area well having only been through a couple times, BUT from everything I've heard, stay on the north side of town.

I can't believe that cheesy lighted arrow sign still remains! Whenever this stretch gets its long overdue makeover, they need to keep it for old time's sake.

It's hard to wrap my mind around how big the highway infrastructure is in D-FW. I supposed it would take close to 100 or so videos to sort it all out. It's interesting to me that Texas has invested so much in road infrastructure yet you don't hear much about subway service in D-FW or Houston. I'm sure it exists...but again the emphasis seems to be on road network. Which is a very pro-business approach. Given the state of things right now, pro-business is not a bad thing at all.
