This was a great, in-depth video on the High Five. Many, many times better than the parclo interchange it replaced. I can still remember the awful exit ramp from EB 635 to NB 75.

That's an epic interchange, especially from the frontage roads. This is just interesting infrastructure and TXDOT really did a fantastic job on the interchange ramps, frontage roads, and HOV lanes. This is just AMAZING. I just need to go down there and film Texas, even though I'll not go that way this year. Impressive work, well done.

Great video, but NYC area has only the Bruckner Interchange as it's tallest interchange. To me NYSDOT and NJDOT must adapt Txdot or Caltrans urban freeway architecture because most NY/NJ urban freeways are only 6 lanes in each direction, but Dallas and Los Angeles urban freeways have 10-12 lanes in each direction due to the carpool lanes as the 6th or the 5th lane along with the 4 general lanes.

Austin just named best city in the US for Job Growth, consistently named one of the best places to live, has been number one (Forbes) Austin of the fittest cities in the world, Dallas and Houston lead in fine arts and museums, (More Art Galleries: NYC or Houston=Houston? I travel on the High Five several times a week. TxDOT should NOT be proud of this engineering and I hope it is NEVER duplicated anywhere else in Texas or the world. There is NEVER a time when traffic isn't backed up to get from one freeway to the other, going in any direction, even when traffic is light. I don't know what creates this back-up. It could be the long ramps or the curve of the ramps, that slows down traffic, or some other cause. In addition, the curve of the ramps and the narrowness of the ramps creates a driving hazard, especially for trucks. There has to be another way!

there's basically just too much traffic. Having more extensive light rail and freight rail networks can take a lot of vehicles off the roads (check out cities like Vienna, Amsterdam and even Tokyo-Yokohama to see examples of functional traffic planning)
