Great looking F4! Nice flight in heavy winds. Love the FW 90mm F4, I have 3 of them, 2 of which are on 8S. A gyro definitely smooths it out, I'm using an AR 637T in all 3 with fairly high gains, no safe. Some say your tail heavy and should balance at 170mm. Rubbish!! All mine are balanced perfectly at 200mm, allowing it to fly level at any throttle position. At 170mm, way too nose heavy forcing it to change attitude at different throttle settings, just like it would at > than 200mm being tail heavy. Just do the 45 degree inverted climb and you can see where it balances best. At 200mm, it's rock solid at any speed and lands like a dream, easily getting a slight nose high AoA when landing with just a bit of throttle. Try it at 194 first and work back to 200, but wouldn't go further, IMO. I'm flying the 8S for over 5 minutes on the SMC 8S HiV 5900mah and the 6S on the SMC 6S HiV 5900. You can see how stable it is in 15-20mph winds on my videos: 8S Jolly Rodgers at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWfYkICpqZiLjZY and 6S F4 at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fn2Xd2ZtbrCUiac Tell me that's tail heavy! 😜

@davidgerlach1132 I don't have the 80mm F16. Everyone says it flies nicely though. I do have the Freewing 90mm F16 on 8S. Set up with flaperons and elevons. Flies on the same SMC 8S HiV 5900. It flies well, but oddly enough, I feel the 8S 90mm F4 flies better and is one of the best EDF's. Upgraded all my aircraft (even prop planes) to the new "plus" version of Spektrum AS3X receivers. Huge difference, a real game changer. The gyro is more active, allows you to program 4 different gyros, like 1 for surfaces, another for things like TV nozzles and another for just the nose wheel for take offs. Landings are now super smooth and easy with + gyro, almost like auto pilot. Just get the right throttle setting, pitch the nose up and wait for butter. Before +, my 2 F18's were a handful, now rock solid smooth and simple landings. + RX is great on my Mig, separate gyro for surfaces, for nose wheel and TV nozzles. Friend has the F22 on 8S with + RX and have to say that's the best flying military jet (after A-10) and the F4 is very close. My opinions only though. 🤪 I'm really more into military jets and props, so if you want to see a few, go to my channel and start here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4u2o3mGiJ55sJI

@@hughwiedman9711 So, it looks like an F-4 Phantom 90mm is the ticket! Checking your other site, thx!

The human gyro need to put a gyro in that bird and smooth it out.

Don't be so quick to judge, It's been REALLY gusty the past few weeks. It was 25~30mph that day.

@@JakeRC Judge? What are you talking about, this is the exact reason to put gyros in a plane, smooths all that crap out!

the cg ant right even though its windy you can see even with 5100 all the way forward that how mine was the first flight so i found the perfect cg is 170 with a 7000 pack all the way to the front so the lipo covers all the wood battery mount even had to move pilot forward and trim the hatch -now it flies perfect takes off and lands like the real thing, from all the youtube videos you watch it looks like 90% are all flying tail heavy

Not true. I have 3 of them, 2 in 8S. Flies perfectly balanced at 200mm. 170 is way too nose heavy, forcing it to fly at all different pitch levels based on throttle. See my videos listed above and tell me I'm tail heavy!!
