Bout what I paid for my remarkable 2 yeah it's over priced but it does exactly what I need it to do and does it well. Yeah I know I could get a boox or super note but I don't want all that. I want long battery, lightweight, no distractions, save to cloud, email to myself, etc so you can see that it really depends on what matters more to you. The book look nice but I don't want all that. I'm almost 100 pages into my first book already (2 weeks so far)

It’s an awesome idea! Sure it’s what you can do with a pen and paper but the digital aspect of it serves a certain audience. Also the Nintendo vibe gives me nostalgia lol The only deterrent for me is the high price.

This is really cute and would be useful, but I bought a $100 2015 MacBook Air that I use on Google Drive and iCloud that fits my needs perfectly because I can turn off all notifications and it is just a writing machine at that point but still saves to the same sources as my desktop Mac and iPhone.

As a person who was raised with an AlphaSmart, I have nothing but high praises for these Typewriters. As a writer, I'm drooling and I can see myself concentrating easily on this. I want them in all the colors! But really expensive guys, I won't be able to afford and it'll be on the back of my list. I don't think I will ever make time for it... The prices are too frightening.

I remember my mom had this thing she kept in a closet that she would stand at. Every time I called it a computer she would correct me because "its not a computer, it's a typing machine" because it only had one function, and that was to type. This is that. But mobile. And seemingly more pointless.

Yes. That's the point. This machine is for getting the drafts out of the brain when and where they surface and into a fixed state that you can then further refine later on. Though the enforced drafting-only approach of the Freewrite that in the past flat out forbade movement of the cursor and even the most basic editing, and more recently, makes cursor movement possible, but seems to make it as cumbersome as possible in order to discourage it, never meshed with my style. It is nice seeing this ad running out in the wild lately though, anything that increases visibility to the idea of dedicated writing machines is lovely in my opinion.
