Finally, I received the Astrohaus Freewrite Traveler e-ink typewriter after two and a half years of waiting. In today's video, I'm going to unbox the Freewrite Traveler together with you and give it a review. Also, I want to show you the short cuts of the key and functions, so you can see if that's something that you will be interested.

Thank you for your review. So many other reviewers praised the device for helping them to write an exponentially higher number of words per day, unleash their creative flow, etc, but your comments seem more genuine and introspective. You are not hypocritical at all, because you are helping us to see how we might feel AFTER the feverish impulse to buy something (because of it’s beautiful design and the marketing that leads us to believe that the next the purchase might help us become the dream we have for ourselves) has passed. I am in the middle of this “fever” right now. I believe I need to buy this and would love using it and seeing it on my desk. I want it so much, but before I knew about its existence, I was fine without it. Yet lately, somehow I feel that my happiness will be incomplete if I do not buy it. I have a lot of thinking to do, as I also believe my happiness would improve by continuing to simplify my life and learning to be grateful for what I already have. Either decision will bring happiness, whether temporary or lasting, and both will bring wisdom, whether from foresight of hindsight. I will take to reflect on this.

Great video! Loved the idea of filming yourself through the mirror. I bought both devices, too, recently. I don't have them yet. We will see, how much I will use them. I will be glad, to have something other than my computer. I prefer it over handwritten notes and using a mechanical typewriter. Often I even write on my phone,... so, this will surely be an improvement for me, in writing comfort. :)

超棒的测评！最近在写新剧本所以也种草了 Freewrite，就是不晓得中文输入到底有多糟糕，是只能全拼那样一个字一个字地输入吗？

谢谢！😊 可惜了中文不太好用。要一个字一个字输入，因为e-ink有延迟的关系，打完拼音以后，下面会出现一栏中文，但是反应有点慢，所以打得慢吞吞的。你想看的话可以在我的Instagram @naniliyang DM我，我录个视频发给你看中文什么样子。

That seems pretty cute and convenient for writing , but I feel itd just stress me as I hate relying on tech for writing when it can get lost,broken,or lose power when its needed and in not always near a power source o.o so I prefer to write in notebooks and journals, but this makes me wanna get a keyboard to connect to my ipad for the typewriter app I have on it o.o But I still kinda want to buy a cute typewriter just for aesthetic and asmr and personal enjoyment

I’m so with you! I feel I have same problem. I like the feeling of writing by hand. But it’s too slow for me. And I always attracted by different apps, keyboards, or typewriter. It’s just make the writing process fun. The sad thing is I wast money often because I don’t have a habit of use these things. But still, like you said, the aesthetic and ASMR are just such enjoyable thing for writing.

@@NaniLiYang yeah sometimes you just need a bit of something newness to get out of a writing funk or something o.o , also, I just have to say, two toned typewriters o.o ..like wow I didnt even know it was a possible thing to switch between two colors during typing as the first one I ever used was super old and bulky and only typed in black lol I am definitely wanting to splurge on a typewriter now lol sad I wish they had typewriter stores so I could go in to test and buy instead of ordering online o.o

I didn’t know there is two toned typewriter! Just did some research and it looks really cute. Too bad I always make a lot gramma problem when I’m writing so I never dare to think of buying a actual typewriter. But I always wish there’s a store that I can go to pay with it too.

@@NaniLiYang yeah I was thinking of checkin thrift stores n goodwill out to see if they have any since ive heard of people buying em for practically 10 or 12 bucks o.o so I'm gonna try my luck, I thought one time a librabry had a typewriter but if it did they probably decided to upgrade to computer now e.e
