why does the timer black out when the game starts? I like it on because its an easy way to tell if you got a ko or not

Funny you say that because it's an extension that helps hide when the game ends. During animated turns, the timer goes black, and the end screen UI (like "rematch" and "download replay") is delayed so that you don't know the game is over until the turn plays out. Helps build suspense for yourself and definitely the audience
