If you get bothered by some words in a battle chat, which has the exact purpsoe of having interactions, then go outside and punch the air. Just asking, why were your sets so slow and bulky? Sure speed is not the first thing ya think about when making primal groudon but especially this situation really screwed most of the late game over. Especially the primal Don one shotting yvel and xern when at a sliver of HP

You'd be wasting valuable stat points by investing in speed. The Pokémon in question are setup sweepers that outspeed everything in the format by clicking Rock polish or Geomancy. But in order to make the sweep happen, they need to click said setup moves which means that they have to invest in bulk in order to afford that one turn of setup and not die to common priority attacks afterwards. These sets are metagame staples (and Freezai had them in most games in these tour if I remember correctly) so Thiago Nunes went for an anti-meta pick with that uncommon Max Speed Primal-Groudon. As Freezai mentioned in the video, the idea of a Groudon with that stat spread was so foreign to him that he dismissed the safe knock out with a sucker punch since he was fully convinced that he'd be faster which turned his winning position into a guaranteed loss.

However I also wished to ask that question as especially with other poketubers and their experiences (as well as posting his videos to his channel), his overall playstyle has been exposed which I do feel played a small part in this groudon’s anti meta spread. 2/3 of his team were less than 306 speed and those mons were the setup / hazard setter / cleaner.

@@El_Kanto my question simply boils into why he’s not running at least one anti meta pick when it should be expected that at every opponent is running at least one anti meta pick by now. It’s not worth running bulk on xern or yvel in this specific case because regardless they got one shot by primal don, and the stats could have easily been spread to offences to our speed for example. Now sure not all primal don runs max speed but it’s almost always in the players best interest to assume the worst and expect this.

Yveltal also has literally no investment in bulk while Xerneas doesn't die to Groudon without the crit. Regarding your last statement, and this is merely my opinion as a somewhat decent player, you simply cannot afford to always assume the worst since this level of play doesn't allow you to cover all bases. Sometimes you're gonna be forced to take a gamble and the players with the best game prep and format knowledge know how to maximize their odds to come out on top.

One choke and 2 misplays. One was the recover to let Gengar in rather than shadow clawing first, which put u into potential dbond scenarios. You predicted dbond but did nothing about it, losing arceus normal, which beats his whole team...You also didnt sucker punch Groudon to be safe and it cost you the whole game. Monke has racist connotations and should not be encouraged in a case like this specially, when you're trying to use it in a derogatory way. That said, we did not go ''full monke'' or did not behave, we simply interacted as friends and hyped up our player when we were down 1-5, which meant a loss happening would end our run. We elevated the expectations, the game discussion, the flow of activity this tour had.

fwiw brazilians are _always_ like this at any tournament. Case in point: Counterstrike majors held in Brazil. The crowd doesnt turn up because they want to watch CS, they turn up because a Brazilian team is playing. The arena is filled and everyone is having a good time but the moment the Brazilian teams are done for the night, the arena is dead quiet.

@matheuscastello6554 lol. As I said earlier, dont try to pull the racist label on me, calling someone monkey, at least from what I have learned, is a way to say when someone is having bad manners. Just like "monkey business", and those player were clearly misbehaving. Even when asked to chill out and stop spamming the chat, they continued.
