Any chance that the macaroni would poke a hole in the Mylar bags . I'm still checking out freeze dryers how much does it raise your light bill.

It is actually something I am very careful about when packaging, and storing. It CAN happen depending on the food. When running, it about the same as a 2ph aircon

Lol, No! It won't poke a hole in quality mylar bags, If you use cheap bags than it's a possiblilty, if you're Prepping and can afford a freeze dryer you can afford higher quality bags, wallaby mylar bags are what I use and I've packed 100s of pounds worth of all types of food and never had something poke thru the 5-7mil thick bags. As for power consumption, I just did a 18hr run for ice cream sandwiches with my stayfresh FD, and it cost about $2 usd in power. A run will cost between 1-6 dollars depending on location. ​@@itsmeimback732
