Super video, as always. I record PowerPoint presentations for part of my videos. When my cursor gets too close to the lower, left-hand corner, PowerPoint displays control buttons, which I don't want in my videos. This feature of Camtasia (to freeze that region) is a perfect solution! Thanks for sharing -- I won't admit to what I was doing before your tutorial to cover that area when I messed up. 😉I love your videos -- they are always applicable to me. Thanks!!

Another very useful video which is so well explained. Well done. I have a question regarding your appearing at the lower right corner of the screen. I suspect that you are using a green screen because there are zero artifacts around the periphery of your picture no matter whether you move or not. I have tried to use the Background removal tool but I do not get a good picture. I would appreciate your advice on this. Thank you in advance.

I don't use a green screen... I just use the Background Removal tool in Camtasia with no other special effects. I find it works best when my shirt contrasts well with my background and when I'm lit up much more than the background... and what also helps is the fact that I use a lens with a low aperture of F1.4 (the Sigma 16mm F1.4 lens)... because of the wide angle lens and the fact that I'm only about 3 feet from the camera and the background is another 8 feet behind me... I'm in focus and the background is blurry. Camtasia does a better job at removing the background when there's that difference in depth. If you don't have the much room behind you or a lens like that, then you would need to use a green screen and make sure it's well lit and without any wrinkles or shadows. I hope that helps :-)

if i have an old version can i add these features without installing the newer version?

It depends on how old the version is that you have… which version do you have? You can also check in your Visual Effects tab to see if “Freeze Region” is an option in your version.
