If the government doesn’t like your speech, or your business, you may face financial tyranny.
Truckers protesting Canada's COVID vaccine rules had their bank accounts frozen.
“You do have to have a bank account, really, to be able to live,” says law professor Todd Zywicki.
Freezing accounts ended the protests quickly. “It’s a very big threat to a free society,” says Zywicki. “We need to tolerate people saying things we don’t like.”
But politicians often don’t. If they can silence protest by grabbing your money, they will.

The whole system is made to control people. Last week, after the sanctions against Russia went into effect I tried to open a bank account with stocks depot outside the EU just for fun. Turns out it's hard - close to impossible - in most places, even Switzerland. Countries all over the world don't want you to be able to protect yourself from measurements as shown in the video. That's why I always have to smile a little when people in the US think their 2nd amendment will protect them from tyranny. The government has no need to fire even a single bullet to ruin your life. Just move a few bits around on a computer.

They blocked the road, it was at a stand still. They then blocked half the road when it was made clear it would get physical. I can't say I'm all that sorry either for jerks who were willing to cause millions of dollars of damages for protesting a mask mandate. Like, what? That is their protest? Why? They hate masks? Me too! A two year old vaccine with no decades of information on it scary? Hell yes! They aren't alone in those concerns. By the wat for all you freedom wielding defenders. First nations people were peacefully protesting construction happening through their land without their consent. They didn't get threats of bank freezes they had people show up with guns to pont at them and forcefully removed them. That seems more of an infringement on individual rights to me. How come your not speaking up on that?

Exactly... I believe there should be a new Law implemented in the West that ANYONE in Government or Business who infringes on peoples basic human, constitutional, lawful rights, i.e. already well established Law are either fined, terminated, or sent to prison depending on the offense. Both government and businesses that are open to the public square should be banned from discriminating against their customers just like phone companies and power companies are banned from doing so. If these people were finally held accountable, they wouldn't dare infringe on peoples rights unless they had actual criminal cause to. We can no longer "trust" those in power, and so they need to start being punished. Also, what I mean by "business" also being held accountable, I'm talking for example social media, a store, etc. Anyone that's open to the public cannot infringe on peoples rights unless it directly effects the operation of the business. For example, you can't "protest" on a company's direct property, or a spa that might require silence can reasonably restrict speech to some degree, etc. But they can't ban or punish people because they don't like their politics, nor can they ban people from lawfully carrying firearms since doing so has no direct effect on the free operation of the business.

@leeuniverse the issue with that, is the only ones who could hold them accountable, would be their peers... who wouldn't. Because the buddy system. If people started beating and hog tying the police trampling over the peaceful protesters with horses... I would bet they would think twice about doing it again. Remember, a peaceful protest only means something if you are willing to violently back it up. That's the exact reason why the US constitution has them as first and second amendments. I'd argue that we should hold people to their own standards, on grounds of consent. If someone says they want a Christian government, that should be considered a declaration of consent to levy criminal sanctions against them whenever they violate Biblical law. If someone says it's OK to freeze the bank accounts of protesters should part of the group turn violent, or cause property damage, or protest "for too long," then they have effectively consented to the use of such tactics against them, should they ever be involved in such a protest. When we start holding people to their own standards, you're going to be absolutely gobsmacked by how many people suddenly champion freedom for the other side.

Here in Australia, there is a rule that requires any transactions of more than $10000 in cash to be reported to the federal government. The teller at my local branch told me that they need to do extra paperwork whenever this happens, so I figured that I'd always keep it just under that threshold. Despite the fact that depositing that money forced me to hand over a huge chunk to government, I still got into trouble for it. Because my business is much more profitable than most and because I was hiding much less income than most combined with the fact that I was legally avoiding reporting these transactions, my account was flagged as a potential money launderer and it was closed. This happened twice. Absolute nightmare both times. Third time I was with the last bank in town, so I wised up, and stopped being so naive. That was several years ago, and I haven't had a problem since.

I totally agree. I have had 2 accounts recently were impacted by these events because of the financial institutions being overly cautious. One was closed after 15 years with no explanation, and the other was locked from doing any online banking. I have lost all confidence in banks at this point and will treat them as a necessary evil for some financial transactions. At this point, I am seriously rooting for crypto to become more mainstream. As a kid in the 80s I loved James brown and he taught me that, his accounts were drained from the gov and he never used banks again, he always got paid in cash, after his death his kids found millions buried in his yard.
