Many people hate Charles Murray.
They call him “dangerous” because he wrote about racial IQ differences.

Angry protestors fail to recognize that Murray is not a white supremacist.
He’s a thoughtful researcher who has published more than a dozen scholarly books about things like the impact of welfare, the pursuit of happiness, and the meaning of libertarianism.
Some of his work influenced presidents.
One of his books influenced my way of thinking.
The video above is my full interview with Murray.

And, well, those of us who are intelligent AND have a spine will continue to discuss them. Science isn't worth doing unless you're willing to take the bad with the good. And here, it's not even necessarily all that bad of a thing - so what if the average IQ of every single race doesn't JUST SO HAPPEN to be EXACTLY the same?? Why would anyone expect it to? The difference is most likely cultural than anything else, which should be GOOD news because it means you can overcome it! It's such nonsense. It's not like this guy DECIDED he wanted black people to have lower IQs ON AVERAGE, you know? He simply OBSERVED it as a fact. I've always found it funny how the people who get so offended by this are continually proving that they are the ones who SHOULD be offended by it, if you catch my drift (they're usually the low IQ types who don't even understand what an average is). I've always found that humorous. It's like if I were to yell out in the streets, "I hate stupid people!" And then, after my words entering the ears of one of those people, that person walks right up to me and says, "now you take that back, Mister, that's me you're talking about!" But you can't take it back because they've just validated your claim, themselves. Lol

As a black kid I was shamed for being a "nerd" even though I was highly intelligent. I stopped putting in the effort trying to be cool and barely graduated with a 2.2 GPA. I was born to a 14 year old mother and my father was killed in the streets. I didn't go to college, but I still made something of myself. I used to buy into these tropes about racism until I learned to investigate for myself, and it made a HUGE difference. My son is brilliant though. I'll be damned if I allow him to not live up to his potential because of victim thinking. Charles Murray presented facts, but these people are too emotional to hear or investigate for themselves. It comes from somewhere...

No, Charles Murray didn't present any fact at all, his book has been debunked over and over for 30 years and he just like to play the victim about "people calling him racist". There's a whole book published the year after the Bell Curve which is a collection of various scientific papers (peer-reviewed, unlike Murray's work), plus many others papers you can find online, you can also find a very well-made 2 hours+ youtube video summarizing the main criticisms. You can teach your son the value of personal responsibility without pseudo-science.

People all too easily concentrate on race, as if there is something inherently superior/inferior about this group or that group. Its a con. Poverty is what creates depravity, just as much in poor white areas as poor black areas. Making race the issue is a racist and deliberate smokescreen. If everyone is talking race, then nobody is looking at the real problem. The Right wing greed that causes and worsens poverty in the United States today.

@@lorenzobarducci8353 Are you saying that the IQ gaps aren't true? Because critics of Murray (like Professor Flynn and Robert Plomin) acknowledge that they are. Are you saying that genetics playing a role isn't true? Because Robert Plomin acknowledges that the answer is 'clear': genetics play a substantial role in performance on intelligence tests between different groups. Are you saying that intelligence isn't at all heritable? Because numerous studies indicate that it is. Those are Murray's central contentions, which his critics largely accept. They just come to different conclusions about why those gaps exist, although their conclusions don't seem to disprove the role of genetics. So I am curious as to how Murray's entire thesis can be debunked if many of his critics accept the above three points? Murray is not infallible, so I quote Robert Plomin's article for Scientific American, as he is very careful to acknowledge the role of environmental factors. Yet he still begins by saying the answer is 'clear' when it comes to the substantial influence of genetics in performance on intelligence tests across groups. Can you clarify further which part of Murray's thesis has been proven completely untrue?

There is not a single public intellectual who has been more unfairly maligned than Charles Murray. My "red-pilled" moment was when I read the masterpiece Human Diversity by coincidence having no clue who Charles Murray was, then I heard someone like Ezra Klein talking about how racist Charles Murray was, then realizing the author of that masterpiece was the same man being accused of racism. Naturally, I had to read the bell curve. As a data scientist, who loves reading about social science and economics, I was floored with the quality of evidence in that book.

What I know for sure is if you listen to music that glorifies crime and violence, puts the blame of everything on others, grow up thinking you're entitled to historical recompensations, that won't make you more intelligent, happier or wealthier. There are lots of cultures that incentivize alcoholism, the spend your money today and worry tomorrow mentality, blame others for your problems, etc... USA, UK, France, Italy, etc... you have people that act that way and somehow expect improvements in their lives even though those behaviors are proven to be fail, always. Everyone knows what works: strong traditional families, people having jobs, finishing your studies, being held accountable for your wrongs, etc..

Because of bias and bigotry, the book is false. In it, it assumes the cultural definitions of races, the book explains this, but then proceeds to use biological assumptions over races, all the while ignoring what genetics has to say on the matter. Ignoring then, and even today. The reason why this is problematic should be obvious to any with ability. But further, the issue is that some readers walk away from the book thinking it said something it does not. It is a statistical, genetic, and political hack job of a book. And if curious, anyone could confirm what I've just written, but curiosity is always missing when people's preferences are at risk, funny how that works.

@@ESCAGEDOWOODWORKING Your last statement was a bit funny 😄... we'll often attempt pseudo-tactics when we think are opponents won't notice won't we lol. Such studies are never totally accurate but they direct us toward the truth if also some misdirection but are a useful aid in conceptualizing what we experience. I share your disinclination toward spreading this material, however, the implications are clear and while truth, however unfortunate, remains true a wise person doesn't spread inflammatory information without true gain, and I hardly think the consequent hostility and violence is a gain. Most of the comments on this page have been tempered but some have been outright hostile exacerbated by this material(and not only on one side). This should not find expressions in schools, with the exception of classes regarding it as a having a constituent topic. As with all knowledge perhaps it should only be shown to those prepared for it, and in this case those of higher intelligence(regardless of race) should not be too adversely affected,

I grew up in a school district where the demographics were 60% white/40% minorities. We had students from rich/poor families in every ethnicity. It was truly reflective of the melting pot you see in the US. Our faculty was just as diverse. The one thing that I noticed that was a constant was that EVERY single student (regardless of race) who applied themselves, took school serious, respected the faculty, stayed out of trouble, and avoided peer pressure, thrived and went on to make something of themselves. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. It didn't matter if they were White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, Biracial, rich, poor, had two supportive parents, lived in foster care, or grew up in the projects. It was as simple as putting in the effort and not falling victim to the naysayers. Yes, some had an easier road and better support system than others, but what I found was that race or economic status did little to deter their inevitable life achievements. The students (regardless of race) who gave into the victimhood narrative that the world was out to get them, who caved to peer pressure, who didn't take school seriously, refused to apply themselves, acted out against the faculty, picked fights with other students, or had unplanned pregnancies, never really made anything of themselves. Deep down, we all know this to be an obvious, simple truth.

Race is assumed culturally, in a genetic sense, but the category of race is not biological. Although people look different and assumptions lead people to believe certain things, each group is actually a loose definition that does not reflect the complexity of biology. There are too many genes being shared within and across group categories.

The government didn’t shrink in TRump’s first term. It grew considerably with a new wing to the military plus a lot other additions, and he piled up more debt in a single term than any president in history. Biden isn’t even going to match it. Yet you still claim to want reduced government? 🤦‍♂️ And term limits are just another example of trying to fix government with more arbitrary government rules. Many are 3rd generation who have never worked, yet have cars, their big tv's and expensive subscriptions and huge US styles fridges and a couple of holidays a year. Yet, still they play every 'card' in the book when confronted on it, be it race, class, gender, so-called disability, etc. 5 years ago we decided to save all we can from working and move away from this lazy open-air, angry, prison. The fact a lazy woman can have 3 kids, usually to different fathers, get a free, three bedroom house and well over £1000 per month benefits is truly disgusting. Lazy breads lazy which leads to low self-esteem which leads to more addiction which reinforces the horrible loop we are stuck in. I too see no recovery from this. I figure I have 25 to 30 years left on this planet. I just hope I still have some freedoms before I die. My daughter, on the other hand, well she's pretty much screwed.

IQ goes up with vocabulary. Johnson O'Connor's research shows that. I struggled for 40 years to get students to read classics. It is the fastest most successful way to build vocabulary, and as a bonus provides models of correct grammar and good sentence structure without mind numbing drills and busy work. If you want to raise your IQ, read !!!

Access to better schooling all throughout life + being in a community of people who've had access to better education all of their life + the ability to focus on studies and not the basic needs of life = greater chance of intellectual ease [when it comes to conventional education].

Honestly, it helps with weeding out my competition. It is easy to get welfare and hard to grind. I welcome the welfare because they really limit themselves with being broke all the time. It never pays to get a handout. Your options are limitless if you choose to earn and learn. When you open your own business(s) you are able to earn far more than welfare check, government assistance, etc. You have no ceiling on your earning potential. This is where the recipients of these welfare checks fail. Maybe it pays for your crappy house and crappy life...but you don't go anywhere. You stay in the ghetto life.

It is not gone. You would be surprised that in spite of the indoctrination efforts how many young ( teenagers) are not buying the socialist teachings in schools. The truth finds a way to rise up and push the lies and liars aside. The children are our future, the majority might be lost in a digital wave of confusion for now but they will find a way where the older people got stuck. The old lies are being revealed and understood for what they are. They will not win.
