I feel bad for saying this, because I like most of Vikton's builds. There is a reason Vikton has a cast on death portal in his helmet. It's true that the build does work, it's a damn good build.. IF you're a *very* good player. Very few people have the skill set that Vikton does though, and that is where the problem lies. Just like some of the very high end guide builders that reviewed the PoB said, 'Vikton is an S tier player with skills far above your average player, the vast majority of people can't play like him, so the build is not going to do for them like it does for Vikton'. It's like Jungroan, he can do what most people can't because his skills are S tier. If Vikton dies some times, I think that means most normal people are going to die a lot.

physical maximum hit 6k and chaos max hit 3k. I feel like you could probably take away some damage and pull up those numbers to at least 30k on all damage types. a 15k phys max hit would be enough to face tank shaper and not care about mechanics. For mapping you will need a little evasion and block, or some type of regen for like 15% of HP per second to negate many smaller hits. (like the lightning titty monsters from eater, they do 1,5k lightning x3 per second) 50k fire max hit is enough to kinda negate the fireballs from exarch, unless you stand on the degen ground which reduces max resistance. and chaos damage usually 10k max hit... kinda negates all.

I've always been decent at games but I'm pretty casual now with an ok gaming laptop and I'm approaching 93 without too many issues. Poison blobs are instakills and I'm running a toxic sewers blight atlas so it's spooky but fun and I'm constantly surprised by how I survive massive hits just don't flame dash in

You include in the POB, a large cluster jewel that isnt possible to craft, because "blanketed snow" is unique to Cold damage clusters and the other passives are from an Elemental Damage cluster. You might already be doing this but, if you anoint "Wisdom of the Glade" on your necklace, you can use the "Honoured Tattoo Of The Wise " on that node for a "+1 to Level of all Intelligence Skill Gems". That gave me almost 2M dps increase.

This build works, even for a B tier player (like me). Sanctum boss dead in seconds; Maven phases last seconds. Built for 25 div, without awakened gems or helmet enchant, still have 6M Freezing Pulse dps and 30M Ice Spear and two-thirds of VV's effective HP; it's enough dps already, with room to grow. You will die; accept it. Learn the mapping playstyle: walk a few steps, drop a totem; repeat until cleared; use walls, doorways, choke points to advantage. Some things will be annoying: Chimera boss, boss Harbingers, etc. Focus on your strengths and enjoy it. Started as Tataniel2's Creeping Frost totem Hiero; it was super safe, but low top-end dps. It was a good starter, but I'm glad I switched to this!

If you are going by what the damage shows in game keep in mind it's much higher then that, Ice Spear does not list the bonuses for second form damage.

Really good build! been playing it for a few days and love it. Funny story though, I was level 80 with a 5 link Soul mantle and was only doing like 26k damage per POB. I spent an embarrassing amount of time looking around as to why VV was so much more powerful, then it finally clicked..... I unspeced Elemental Overload, and my damage shot through the roof. Anyways, thank you for the guide, really well put together and explicative to someone like me.

Also for bosses if you want extra chunk of dps if you already have shield for extra totem use Inspiration support instead of multitotems (just check you get 5 charges) and you get way more DPS to burst them down.

Idk the damage was pretty shit until I started getting big upgrades that were expensive early on, which is fine, but it was advertised as “ezpz red maps easy as white maps with no gear” and that just isn’t the case. Seems like a ton of ppl had the same problem based on comments in the stream. Once you get all the gear and big upgrades though it’s pretty solid.

I followed your build and I'm now min-maxing. I can say that before getting the 6L soul mantle, the build is very rough to play due to low damage and being squishy. After getting the 6L soul mantle it is much like you say in your video about being squishy but safe. Very important for any players trying this build - do not treat yourself like a melee tank; play as a defensive mage and summoning your totems strategically to stay alive. All in all, very fun build. I'm still playing it and I plan to min-max it. I don't die nearly as much anymore with better gear and adapting to the playstyle.

I got to level 91 with this build then bought 5 way for 1 divine to get up to lvl 95. U just played it wrong. Only thing that kills me is Altar's mobs. Below T16 i died very rarely.

Cousin played this build last league, was super potent. Seems even stronger for bossing now with the curse rework having lost mitigation. Playing CL occultist this league, but might switch up to storm brand for sanctum running for mobility. I’ve been impressed with storm brand in the past, especially with aegis defense.

FYI: your blind equals exactly 92 extra evasion rating. So not as big a defensive layer as you might think as blind only gives you an extra 20% evasion versus the target hitting you. Not obvious but blind is basically worthless unless you are stacking evasion.

The build is nice enough imo, but it is squishy as hell. This is the most fragile char i have EVER played. As soon as you hit your head on a doorpost you die, let alone if a mob manages to touch you. This is gonna be hell on earth for regular joes like me trying to get past level 90 or so.

Made some changes to your build still have great damage just Have Max Block and 60% spell suppression, And 6 total totems, 80 all res with coming up on 5k life. I am trying to craft me a %Life Recoup Rings and more life regen though now at 550 and small amount of regen on block think 150 atm. But damage is at 19.8mil, i can get more but i think this is fine.

Great guide, but u should consider dropping awakened gmp, the gem by itself costs around 20 divines, and that's double the price of rain of splinters, that u said u wouldn't include because of how expensive it is. It is a very good upgrade but it is for the mid maxed version of the build.

For those that are using VV's trade links and wanting to buy the projectile cluster, remove the ilvl requirements. This will save you ~40c. The ilvl is only useful if you are crafting the jewels, and even then the price they go for are not worth it.

Only 1st wand itself on market will be like 10 div or more. I play this build rn, and its not really feel comfy. At least, at point where i am. I have 2 crap wands (but better then staff), all clusters, 6l mantle, that curse ring. Maps is "okay-ish", but have troubles with league mechanics with rares, especially if they fast moving, or attacking offscreen (alva architects, syndicate, breach rares, essences, cant really clear legion coz lacking damage and cant choose target). Many rares move so fast, that ice spear cant really hit them. If do not change to spear i just dont have enough dps on FP to kill them in time and clear breach\legion stuff. Kinda frustrated. Cant really utilize any farm strat that i wanted. Also no lucky drops. For now will farm sacred groove and sell lifeforce. At least i can do it without swapping to spear in the middle of the fight (tried to sell essences but lost 4 portals on average t16 with double mobs with 5 essences, they so fast running aroun that spear barely can hit them LOL, and bombard me with fire proj osscreen). This month will try to complete this build, but if not will switch to EA ballista. At least i know how it will feel, played it 3.19

Update: get a belt. 30% spell damage is a HUGE QOL upgrade. T16 feel better now, only die 1-2 times per mep (or more, depend on mods). dropped shield with 106% cold damage fractured Should i craft it, or 2nd want still be better ?

Double Essence Worm: The choice is ether 2 Essence worms or Anathema and a rare ring. DEW lets you have 2 free auras; each increased my damage by about ~20% (in PoB). Anathema will give allow you to apply 4 curses (Frostbite, Sniper's Mark, Ele weakness, Punishment) which more than doubles damage (3.20 also changed curse's effectiveness on bosses, no longer have the -66% effect). The 2nd ring then lets you have more reduced curse effect on self and damage stats/resistances ect. We still run Hatred in our helm with Eternal Blessing, for 100% uptime and no mana reservation aura. If you still go for DEW with zealotry, make sure you have Bottled Faith Sulphur Flask for its combined effect. Atziri's reflection: For curses to not affect you, your choices are ether: Atziri's Reflection or ensuring your jewels and one ring have reduced curse effect. In terms of damage, instead of Atziri's reflection, a 2nd wand will grant higher damage output. If you have the budget for perfect jewels without the curse reduction, then you may get better damage with them, but if you are not rolling in divines, they are better spent elsewhere. Pandemonium: Rare Ammy with "+1 all cold gam" & "Mark the Pray" anoint (cost ~3c in oil) is cheaper and better damage. The Annihilating Light: Caping resistances becomes very expensive. If your budget is high enough you can make this work, however 2 wands are not that far off damage wise, and don't come with the massive defense penalty. (60% reduced elemental resistances means instead of needing 135% resist, you need 225% to reach cap) Disclaimer: I'm lvl82 on this build with more time theory crafting than being able to play. Most of my knowledge comes from Von Vikton's videos and poking around in PoB.

Yeah gem swap to ice spear for end game bosses. Not needed in mapping but anything above shaper I switch. Also you’ll never get enough stats on staff to best out 2 wands. You’d need like +2 gem levels 40 cast speed 160% spell damage and 35 multi and it’s still not even as good

Do it. I went more defensive with my version of this and it feel 10x better not being full glass cannon and still phases most bosses.

So I've been struggling with this build for awhile. I tried several variants: Viridi's Veil, Atziri's Reflection, but ultimately found that there isn't a particularly good way to maintain enough damage to kill things quickly enough to justify the safer builds. By far the best defensive layer with this build is to freeze things and kill them before they get anywhere near you. I built something very close to this video, subsituting the new Heatshiver into the helm for a very nice additional dps chunk and to help kill mobs that resist cold damage. This has allowed me to run a +1 totem shield in place of the Reflection. Overall, I like his build a lot but the lack of chaos resist is frustrating. Your best bet is a big health pool with high regen so that when you do stand in stuff, you can get out and recover in time. The only other downside to the build is that it has like, no move speed. So for mapping it's very slow. But I use it for bossing as I try to get my Spark Inquisitor to 100 and don't want to risk dying on rippy fights like Gehennix or whatever that Delve boss's name is. Hello congratulations for the video really very good, but it makes me thoughtful about the elemental resistances that are very low. Question: does the chance to avoid curses cover this fact? I wonder if I change the helmet for the devouring diadem necromancer having the ashes amulet I will be able to bind the auras hatred determination and purity. I would like your opinion and tell me what auras you are using because I did not understand in the pob. Is the accuracy in this build necessary? because we can exchange purity for precision.

You will be at no mana, and mana is ur resource of actually surviving something. Also 6link totems costs 200 mana.

Loved this build, but there are a couple things that seem pointless to me. Hoping someone educates me or verifies this. 1) What is the point of Vortex/Unbound Ailments, Bone Chill and arcane surge? Vortex itself does 0 damage due to Ancestral bond. If the only benefit is to trigger arcane surge, surely there are more efficient ways to do this. Seems like a waste of 4 sockets to me.

I see on your leveling POB to use Eternal blessings but also have Clarity. How do I benefit from clarity if it's disabled with eternal blessing?

Im loving the build and your guide but its all over the place. Random trap stuff when you cant fit it. Same with auras/blessings. Ends at act 6. Your guide i started following 2 days ago has now morphed into some new tree in the one in this video with completely diff gem setups. Im starting to lose it lol
