@@shaziabellamy7654 thank you 🙏🏼 I worked as a sub agent for a different company. So I had some insight on what companies were looking for and who to contact. If you can’t get a shipping manager, talk to sales. I got 2 customers email from the sales department and asked the sales rep if I could use them as a referral. Which helps you seem less cold and more warm in the sales call or email.

I want to point out the difference between your videos and the other freight broker videos. The other guys just go over sales calls and the basic issues. But you guys go over real life scenarios . Your personal experiences . I watched your video where you worked with Alcoa and the bubble wrapping and reducing their claims. Well I have a confession here. I BORROWED that sales point from you and used it on a Aluminum Manufacture . He was saying WOW !!!1 what a great job you must of done. and now my packet is going through their corporate for approval. So, I thank you very much for the ideas you guys provide. Since I am cdl driver and driven flatbed. I know how to haul and I can go into detail with the shipper. I make them envision the story I tell them.. You guys made a Midwest friend here. I have allot of leads if you need any. I hope that I gear something back on the approval of my company. You guys are the best and thank you again

"This is Millie with MM Logistics, can I talk to XXX in shipping to ask them about setting up for shipment" ... that's it. Your goal is to get the shipper manager on the phone. Once they are on the phone. Talk to them about you and ask if you can have a small lane to quote. That's that. literally. It's how we get ours in more than half the time most take trying to call.

I would not want some guy/gal calling me pretending they know me. I am just looking for that Hello, I a and I got your contact information by???? of do I just go into the conversation?
@Freight360 Жыл бұрын
The small talk at the beginning of the call is very important. You'll want to use something that fits why you identified them as a prospect in the first place. A great place to start is going through BOL's you've picked up from or delivered to. You can start the call with, "We share a mutual customer that we've been working with. And we thought it was worth a conversation since we're currently delivering/ or loading out of your facility."

I think TQL may offer sub par training and not great business practices / habits to fall into . However it probably depends on the branch and the manager of the TQL office. I personally did it R+L Carriers/Paramount Logistics. You get to learn the asset side as well as the brokerage side and they start off about 40 K a year versus TQL is in the low 30s from what I recall years ago

What was your approach when you were starting out cold calling, with no trucks in the area?

How do you feel about hiring telemarketers for cold calling for carriers and shippers
@Freight360 Жыл бұрын
We’ve never seen it work long term. It’s a relationship business. People will only open up and work with people that they connect with. Put the time in building those relationships one by one. It’s hard work. But it’s effective and builds a strong foundation for a profitable business.
