I have never seen a train go through that tunnel ever! Awesome! Woof!

Trains go through there everyday but I think they go through early in the morning and late at night. This was around 6 am when I took this video. Celia my dog was with me! 🐶

Amazing the tunnel still in use today. Definitely a tight fit. The description was very informative. Lots of changes over the years.

I agree! It's in rough shape.

There is a staircase between the tracks with a little door at the top. I simply must need to see what is in there.

What I can't believe is they are putting a dangerous goods freight train through a tunnel. Incredibly dangerous to do this

As a young teen my exploring partner and I lived a block away from the train tracks which is now known as the Dequinder cut. We hoped on trains whenever the train whistle sounded. One time the train rode us downtown and on to the Michigan grand station but it didn’t stop.. it went through the underwater tunnel at a high rate of speed and it was pitch black. When the light appeared we were in Windsor, Canada! The train kept going at a high rate of speed, were in a open box car and the train didn’t stop until we arrived at Niagara Falls!

Do this video again but let the drone get down a little lower so we can see inside the tunnel. I think it would be cool if we could see a train coming and pull the drone up before train exits tunnel

I have been fascinated by this old train tunnel for many years! 😀🙂🚔🐕🦺 My son and I went there on a cool Fall Sunday morning. We were on the lookout for 15th and Fort Street. It was reportedly the site of the biggest marijuana bust ever. A newspaper article reported an illegal freight car full of BC Bud had crossed the border through the Detroit Train Tunnel! We searched Google Maps but had no luck. The street sign for 15th Street is not near the corner. By walking on the Fort Street bridge passing over the tunnel tracks we found the sign. It was made of wood and stood between the two sets of tunnel tracks. If the Detroit Police, FBI, or Homeland Security guarded this tunnel we saw no signs that morning. Except for the fact that there was a building across the street with a German Shepard barking. We also noticed a Michigan State Police Patrol car nearby, about a block away, and an unmarked black SUV in the area. An Urban Explorer Experience in the Big D to be remembered!

Thank you for posting your story. It’s a great area to explore and I park at the end of 14th Street or by an old warehouse right next to the tunnel.

Doesn't CBP get pissed about you flying a drone near them while they're working? Or do they appreciate the extra set of eyes?

No. They knew I was there.

Is the Border Patrol there every time a train comes through?
@michaelanthonyvideos Жыл бұрын
That's a good question. They left as soon as the train went through so it may be.

Do they use both sets of tracks?

No, the tracks on the right side of this video has not been used since the portal on the left side was bored at the top to allow car carriers to clear. The portal is still too low to accommodate double stacked tall containers. The tracks are cut on the Canadian side past the right side portal.
