I sat on the cliff with a 7'6" and an 8'6" for about an hour watching on the dead low tide. Decided it was not lining up quite right with maybe a tad too much west, so shifted further down the Bukit where it was hitting perfectly and a bit more protected from the Trades. Anyway, a day like this you really need a serious board, acres of water to cover and those winds just hold you up in the lip. This swell was not quite as big nor nearly as perfect as the one that lit up Balangan a couple of weeks earlier on June the 11th. Still, I am surprised how tempting some of your excellent footage makes it look. Stellar job recording and putting this together, much thanks.

Cheers mate, I was only on Bali for 4 days (en route to west sumbawa, check out my SUPERSUCKS vids!), so was pretty stoked to get a decent size swell, perfect or not, the stoke was high! :D

I miss those days, those are the best days to surf when no one goes out cus it's too big. Lived there for 2 years and when it fires like that, I would be by myself most of the time, maybe 1 other person. Most of the times people just check to see if I can make the waves and when they see me catch a long reeler they paddle out.

I was out on my boogie with another mate the day before, same size and it was insane! Really wanted to try getting another day like this in 2020, still holding hope flights open before the end of the season haha. You must have had some insanely fun sessions mate! So jealous haha

Balangan isnt as built up as other popular areas, and luckily when it gets 8ft or over, the crowd there REALLY thins out!
