I replaced my compressor 2 months ago. Starting yesterday. The truck will build air pressure fine. The it will drop down to 60psi and hold it there. I have to throttle up and it takes at least 5min to build back up to 140. Once it does. It’s fine afterwards. It hold pressure after that. What could that be?

Air pressure struggles to build past 80psi while idling and revving with breaks applied. Once I release breaks, pressure drops right on the red line, making buzzer go off. This happens every time I stop. I move forward a little and it builds back up but no more than 100psi .. even on the freeway. I drained tanks (not completely tho). I didn’t hear any water come out. And I tapped on air dryer. Didn’t solve problem. I’m not very mechanic savvy. I’m only company driver :/ Help

You brother saved my day and compressor on my DD15 .yes there is a big leak around the left tank regulator.I I certainly go after this before replacing compressor.You are a KZbin Savior of the souls😂😂😂😂😂

How often is.the compressor supposed to run? my truck is automatic, I donot see the air pressure go below the minimum for the co.pressor to kick in. It runs for like 10 seconds then the n it stops as soon as the air dryer releases pressure

Tengo un western star 49x, con u Detroit D16 I quisiera saver si me podrias ayudar, los tanques del aire se llenan de agua en un par de dias y e notado que si boi manejando en el highway no pasa de 110 psi, solo asta que preciono el freno ,asta entonses enpiesa a moverse y llega asta 130 psi. ase la descarga I luego Baja de Nuevo y se queda a 110 otraves, y la descarga del air dryer no la ase fracuentemente sino asta que alcansa los 130, lo que pasa cada 10 o 15 minutos, y los tanques coletan agua porque no descarga quisiera saver si alguien podria darme una idea de que pasa

Check you air dryer Check your air tanks for water If everything is ok, your compressor could be bad.

Thanks, I fixed this problem with a 250 psi bleeder valve and new dryer filter. No more noise.Air tank is holding pressure.

You confuse me. In one video you say if the air is building slow and you have no air leaks it's the unloading valve. In this video you say if the air is building slow and you have no air leaks it's the air compressor. How can I know if my air is building low because I have a bad unloading valve or if the air compressor is bad?

Got a question, we've got a '08 Columbia with the Cat C15 motor takes forever to build air pressure. At idle it wont pass 50psi, and 1500rpm it takes over and hour to get cut out. I've replaced the governor, dryer, and compressor. I've found a few small leaks but nothing big enough to justify that long of a air build time.

Check the main hose that goes from the compressor to the dryer, sometimes it leak and the PROBLEM happens.

Hello Francisco, I have a question. I have a 2011 Cascadia with a DD13 and about a weeks ago I replaced the air drier an drove it and everything was fine until the other day. Drove about 650 miles and when I stopped for the night I noticed I lost my air pressure. I got it to build to 60 and eventually to 100 but as soon as I brought the idle down it drops. I got under the truck when it had pressure and there's no air leaks anywhere. What I did notice is that once when the trucks cold it will build up the normal pressure just fine but after about 10 minutes it begins to drop. And if I'm driving while the pressure is up it will hold it normally but as soon as I come to a stop I lose the pressure once again. I was being told that it might be the the unloader valve kit. What do you think? Can I do the kit or should I just replace the whole air compressor? Truck has 697k miles, thanks in advance, really appreciate any help

Yes, you can replace the kit. Check for leak in the main line on the air compressor too.
